Your Words Are Not Ordinary

There is something you may not have fully grasped yet about the words you speak. Not the casual words of everyday conversation, but the words you speak from Scripture. The words you declare over your life, your family, your situation. These are not ordinary words. They are not empty sounds floating into the air. They carry something far beyond what your natural mind can measure. And today, I want to take you into this truth, because when you understand it, everything changes.
The Year of Things You Cannot Comprehend
Let's start right here with Job 37:5:
"God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend." Job 37:5
This is not a poetic exaggeration. This is a declaration about the nature of God's activity. What He is about to do in your life, in your family, in your generation, is so great that if you tried to describe it to someone, they might not even believe you. Critics will come. Unbelievers will say it was staged, that it was a setup. But here is what I want you to know: when God moves, He does not move within the boundaries of what people can easily explain. He moves beyond comprehension. The very fact that someone cannot explain it is the evidence that it is God. So do not shrink back from expecting the unimaginable. That is exactly where God operates.
The Majesty in Your Mouth
Now look at Psalm 29:4:
"The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty." Psalm 29:4
When a lion roars, there is a majesty in that voice. Every creature responds. There is no arguing with it, no ignoring it. That is the nature of the voice of the Lord. Powerful. Full of majesty. And here is what you must understand: when you declare and decree the word of God, you are not declaring an ordinary word. You are not speaking from your own limited authority. You are carrying the authority of the King of kings. You are declaring His majesty. You are declaring His righteousness. You are declaring that His kingdom is breaking through.
Imagine a time, before modern media, when important announcements had to be delivered in person. A ruler or governing authority would appoint a messenger to travel from place to place. To gather attention, the messenger would beat a drum, ring a bell, or make another loud signal so people would come out and listen. Now, that messenger was an ordinary person. He held no royal title. He had no personal power of his own. But the moment he opened his mouth and declared the ruler's word, every ear listened. Every person obeyed. You know why? Because he was not speaking his own word. He was carrying the authority of the one who sent him. Every word he declared was the king's word.
You are the kings of this world, and when you declare the word of the King of kings, every knee shall bow.
That is what happens when you open your mouth and speak the word of God. You are not speaking as a helpless person hoping something might happen. You are the carrier of the word of heaven. Every problem must move. Every darkness must flee. Every sickness must bow. Not because you are powerful in yourself, but because the word you are carrying is the word of the King.
Fire That Leaves No Trace
Now let's look at Jeremiah 23:29. This verse will change the way you think about the word of God forever:
" Is not My word like fire [that consumes all that cannot endure the test]?" Jeremiah 23:29 (Amplified)
The word of God is like a fire that consumes all that cannot endure the test. Think about what fire does. When something burns completely, you do not even see the trace of it afterward. There is no remnant. There is no evidence it was ever there. That is exactly what the word of God does to every situation that comes against you. When you declare God's word over your sickness, over your financial pressure, over your anxiety, over your broken relationships, that word goes to work like fire. It burns out the work of the enemy. It consumes the deception. It destroys the plans that were set against you. And when it is done, you will not even see the trace of what was there before.
When a bushfire sweeps through an area overnight, the whole landscape changes completely. What was there before is gone. That is what the word of God does in your life. You will not even be able to see the trace of the past bad experiences, the failures, the fears. They will be completely burned away in Jesus' name.
The Hammer That Shatters the Rock
And notice that same verse in Jeremiah 23:29 uses another image: a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.
"like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]?" Jeremiah 23:29 (Amplified)
Maybe your situation feels like a rock to you right now. Something that has not moved, no matter what you have tried. Something immovable, something heavy, something that has been there so long you have started to accept it. I want to speak to you directly: never give up. Keep declaring. Keep decreeing. Because the word of God is not just fire, it is also a hammer. And a hammer that is swung against a rock does not give up because the rock did not shatter on the first blow. You keep declaring, and with every declaration, the word of God is breaking the resistance, breaking the hardness, breaking the obstacles, breaking the schemes of the enemy, breaking the deception, shattering every evil plan.
The word of God breaks what cannot be broken by any other force.
This is the great force you have with you. You do not need to go searching for more power somewhere else. You do not need to keep praying "God, give me power" as if the power has not yet arrived. God's word has already been given to you. And who is the word of God? Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself has been given to you. The power is already in your hands.
Conclusion
The voice of the Lord is powerful and full of majesty. The word you carry is not a human word. It is a word from heaven, loaded with the authority of the King of kings. When you speak it, it goes out like fire, consuming everything the enemy has built against you, leaving no trace behind. It goes out like a hammer, shattering every rock that has blocked your path. You do not need more power. You need the revelation that the power is already yours, because the word of God has been given to you. Open your mouth. Declare it. Decree it. And watch what God does.
Reflect on This
Are there situations in your life that have felt like an immovable rock, and what would it look like to begin declaring God's word over them consistently and expectantly?
When you speak the word of God, do you do so with the awareness that you are carrying the authority of the King of kings, or does it feel like an ordinary routine? How might a deeper revelation of this truth change the way you pray and declare?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You that Your word is not an ordinary word. I declare that the voice of the Lord is powerful and full of majesty, and that every word I speak from Your Scripture carries the authority of the King of kings. I declare that Your word is fire in my mouth, consuming every work of the enemy in my life. Every sickness, every obstacle, every scheme set against me is burning before Your word right now. I declare that every rock that has stood in my way is being shattered by the hammer of Your word. I receive the revelation that the power has already been given to me through Jesus Christ. I will declare Your word boldly, and I will see the manifestation of Your promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.
