Jesus and child in robes stand in orange sunset desert with birds and mountains, calm and hopeful.
Seeing God as your Abba Father opens the door to the revelation that all things are possible for Him on your behalf.

There is something deeply transforming that happens when you stop seeing God as a distant, demanding ruler and start seeing Him as your Father. Not just any father, but your Daddy God. Your Abba. The One who has always been close, always been present, and has never once turned His face away from you. That is the truth we are stepping into today, and it has the power to completely shift the way you see your life, your circumstances, and your God.

You Did Not Receive the Spirit of Fear

One of the first things the enemy does when trouble shows up is flood your mind with fear. What if things get worse? What if this does not work out? What if you are alone in this? Those "what ifs" can spiral fast. But here is what the Word of God says about that:

"For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, Abba! Father!" Romans 8:15

You did not receive a spirit that chains you to fear. You did not receive a spirit of bondage that pulls you backwards into anxiety, dread, or hopelessness. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption. The Spirit that causes something deep inside you to rise up and cry out, "Daddy God!"

The Weymouth New Testament puts it this way: you have not acquired a consciousness that fills you with terror. Instead, you have acquired a deep inward conviction of being adopted as a son or daughter, a conviction that prompts you to cry aloud, "Abba, our Father."

That word "Abba" is not formal. It is intimate. It is the way a child calls out to a loving parent. And that is exactly the relationship God has invited you into.

God has not given you a spirit of fear. He has given you a Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.

Jesus Became Like You So You Could Become Like Him

To fully understand what you have been given, you need to understand what Jesus did for you. He stepped into your humanity so that you could step into His divinity.

"Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery." Hebrews 2:14-15

The Son of God became the Son of Man so that the sons and daughters of man could become the sons and daughters of God. He took on flesh, was tempted in every way, felt the weight of human weakness, and still He did not sin.

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but one who has been tempted, knowing exactly how it feels to be human, yet without committing any sin." Hebrews 4:15

On the cross, Jesus experienced what it felt like to be fully human, including the sense of abandonment when He cried, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" That was the human nature speaking. But because of what He accomplished through that death and resurrection, you no longer have to live from that place of feeling forsaken. You have a new identity. You are not abandoned. You are adopted.

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but he has given us a spirit of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline, abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control." 2 Timothy 1:7

He has given you abilities, not disabilities. He has given you the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead. When you pray over your body, your family, your mind, everything that has been dead must come back to life because you carry that power.

Seeing God Through the Right Lens

Here is a key truth that changes everything: there are two revelations you need to seek from God. First, you need to know God the way Jesus knew God. Second, you need to know how much God loved Jesus. These two revelations will completely transform how you see your circumstances.

When you see God through the lens of the old Adam, you end up asking why God is allowing your problems, your trials, your pain. But when you see God through the lens of Jesus, the second Adam, the born-again Spirit, everything shifts. You do not see a harsh judge. You see your Daddy.

Think about it this way: have you ever heard a child say, "My dad allowed me to fall and break my leg?" Of course not. A child trusts their parent completely. That is the lens God wants you to use.

"If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" Luke 11:13

Your Father is good. He gives good gifts. And He has already given you the greatest gift, His own Spirit living inside you, calling out "Abba Father" from the depths of your heart.

When you see God as Abba Father, you come to the revelation that all things are possible.

Look at how Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane:

"And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will." Mark 14:36

In His most difficult moment, Jesus called God "Abba Father" and declared that all things are possible for Him. That is the connection. When you relate to God as your Abba Father, possibility becomes your reality. His will is perfect. His plan is wonderful. And He is working it all for your good.

You Were Predestined for This

This sonship is not accidental. It was planned before the foundation of the world.

"He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will." Ephesians 1:6

When Adam and Eve were created, they were sons and daughters of God. They had no human parents. But when Adam chose independence and walked away, mankind walked away from the family. And so God, in His relentless love, sent His Son to bring you back. Not into something new, but back into what you were always created to be, His child.

"But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba! Father!" Galatians 4:4-5

And because you are a son, because you are a daughter:

You have been brought back into the family. You are not a stranger to God. You are not a servant. You are His child. You have full rights and full privileges.

"For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For you who were baptized into Christ have put on Christ, and so you are no longer slaves but sons, and if sons, then heirs of God through Christ." Galatians 3:26

And perhaps one of the most beautiful declarations in all of Scripture:

"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him." 1 John 3:1

That is what you are. A child of God. Not because of anything you did, but because of everything He did.

You Have Access to the Father Always

"For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father." Ephesians 2:18

Think about what it means to be a child with a loving parent. You have access anytime. You can call and they will answer, no matter how busy they are. That is the access you have to God right now. Anytime. Any hour. Any season. He is available to you because you are His.

"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12

You have the authority. You have the privilege. You have been welcomed into the family of the Most High God.

Conclusion

You are not an ordinary person. You are extraordinary because of who your Father is. You are not defined by fear, by failure, by sickness, or by the lies the enemy has whispered. You are defined by the blood of Jesus Christ and the Spirit of adoption that lives within you. Every heartbeat is a reminder: Abba Father. Abba Father. You are loved, you are chosen, you are His. Go today with that truth settled deep in your heart.

Reflect on This

  1. Are there areas in your life where you have been seeing God through the lens of the old Adam, viewing Him as distant or allowing your pain, rather than as your loving Abba Father who is always with you?

  2. What would change in how you pray, speak, and face your challenges if you truly lived from the revelation that you are a fully adopted child of God with complete access to your heavenly Father?

Prayer

Abba Father, I thank You that I have not received a spirit of fear or bondage, but the Spirit of adoption. I declare that I am Your child, predestined and welcomed into Your family through Jesus Christ. I have the mind of Christ. I carry resurrection power. Fear has no hold on me because perfect love drives it out. Every scheme of the enemy against my life, my family, and my home is broken. I speak new beginnings, healing, restoration, peace, and joy over my life right now. I have access to You always, and I trust that Your will for me is perfect and wonderful. I receive every good promise You have spoken over my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
