Man by sea
When you speak with authority to your circumstances, they must obey just as the wind and waves obeyed Jesus.

Today, let's explore what it means to live as Christ in this world. This isn't about striving, but embracing who you already are in Him a person of authority and divine purpose.

The Storm Revealer

In Mark 4, we find Jesus and His disciples crossing the sea when a violent storm arises. While the disciples panic, Jesus remains asleep. When they wake Him, His response reveals something extraordinary:

"He got up and sternly rebuked the wind and said to the Sea, 'Hush, be still, be muzzled.' And the wind died down as if it had grown weary, and there was at once a great calm, a perfect peacefulness." - Mark 4:39

This moment wasn't just about calming a physical storm it was a revelation of true authority. The disciples witnessed something unprecedented: a man who commanded the elements, and they obeyed. Their astonishment is captured in their question:

"Who then is this that even the wind and the sea obey Him?" - Mark 4:41

What they saw was humanity operating as originally designed—with dominion over creation.

Choosing Your Image

We've been conditioned to see ourselves through the lens of fallen Adam limited, fearful, and subject to the elements. This is like showing someone a crashed airplane as their first introduction to flight. They would forever associate airplanes with brokenness.

Similarly, the world has only witnessed humanity under the image of the old Adam broken and powerless. But that is not your true identity.

"As He is, so are we in this world." - 1 John 4:17

You are called to live under the image of the new Adam Jesus Christ. In Him, you are complete and empowered. Nothing broken, nothing missing, nothing lacking.

When Fear Approaches

Jesus asked His disciples:

"Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith and confidence in Me?" -Mathew 04:40

Fear and faith cannot coexist. When we choose fear, we indirectly confess our lack of faith. But remember:

"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." - 2 Timothy 1:7

When the storms of life rage around you, when your mind fills with anxious thoughts, you have the authority to say, "Be still!" Just as the wind died down at Jesus' command, so too will your problems they must bow to the authority you carry.

Living As The New Creation

The disciples were amazed because they witnessed true humanity for the first time humanity as God intended. They saw someone who wasn't subject to natural laws but who operated with divine authority.

This same authority has been given to you through Christ's finished work. In fact, Jesus promised that those who believe in Him would do even greater things than He did.

You are the temple of the living God, a powerhouse of divine energy. You are anointed to heal, to deliver, to prosper even in times of famine. You carry resurrection power within you.

Each morning, declare: "I am righteous. I am filled with the Holy Spirit. I am the temple of the living God. I am anointed to heal and deliver. Wherever I go, I bring light and restoration."

As you live from this place of authority, people will ask, "Who is this person who has such authority that even circumstances obey them?"

Conclusion

The world is waiting to witness the new Adam manifested through you. You are called to display a different image of humanity, one that reflects God's original intent. Not broken or fearful but powerful, authoritative, and victorious.

Today, see yourself as God sees you. You are like Jesus in this world complete, whole, and empowered to command the storms of life to be still.

Reflect on This

  1. How might your life change if you truly believed you have the same authority Jesus demonstrated?

  2. What "storms" in your life need to hear your command to "be still" today?

Prayer

I declare that I am like Jesus in this world. I carry His authority and power. Every storm in my life must bow to my command. I am not subject to fear, lack, or sickness. I am the temple of the living God, filled with resurrection power. Where I go, healing flows. What I touch is restored. I walk in divine authority, commanding circumstances to align with God's perfect will for my life. I am complete in Christ nothing broken, nothing missing, nothing lacking.
