You Were Born to Win, Not Survive

October 12, 2026

Welcome to today's meditation. There is something powerful waiting for you in God's Word today, and it has the potential to completely shift the way you see yourself, your circumstances, and the life God has called you to live. This is not a message about coping or barely getting through. This is a message about the extraordinary life that God designed specifically for you.
The Real Reason Jesus Came
Most of us have heard the Gospel framed around sin and forgiveness, and that truth is absolutely essential. But there is a deeper, fuller picture that deserves our attention. Jesus did not only come to rescue you from sin. He came to restore something that was lost long before you were born. At the Garden of Eden, when Adam sinned, something more than innocence was lost. Adam lost the God-kind of life, a life packed with divine wisdom, knowledge, understanding, power, holiness, authority, and ability. God had breathed all of that into Adam's very nostrils, and when sin entered, that life left. What remained was mere breath without the fullness of God.
Jesus came to give that life back.
"He who has the Son [by accepting Him as Lord and Savior] has life [that is eternal]. He who does not have the Son of God [by personal faith] does not have the life." 1 John 5:12
Think about what that means for you today. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have been welcomed back into the God-kind of life. Every sickness, every failure, every broken situation that contradicts the will and Word of God has no right to define your story, because you have moved from the kingdom of death into the kingdom of life.
Rivers of Living Water Flow from You
This truth is not reserved for pastors, apostles, or people with a certain spiritual pedigree. It is for whoever believes.
"He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, 'From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.'" John 7:38
Notice the word "living." Something that is living must be connected to a living source. When you renew your mind to what Jesus has done on the cross, when you declare that He has given you life, life over your family, life over your children, something begins to flow. You stop meditating on the world's definition of life, which says things go up and down, that sickness is a season, that suffering is just part of it. That is not your story.
When rivers of living water flow through you, every dry and dead thing in your path has to change. You carry the anointing of God. You carry the power of God. You are not called to anxiety, not called to depression, not designed for a life that goes up and down. The life of God in you only moves in one direction, and that direction is upward.
"This life cannot go up and down. It always goes up in Jesus' name."
Light and Darkness Cannot Coexist
Jesus made a bold declaration that connects directly to the life He came to give.
"I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." John 8:12
Interestingly, Jesus also said to His disciples, "You are the light of the world." Whatever He declared about Himself, He also deposited into those who follow Him. So if He is the light of the world, and you follow Him, then you carry that same light.
Here is a simple but powerful way to evaluate any situation you face. Picture a table with two columns: one for light and one for darkness. Sickness? Darkness. Failure? Darkness. Disease, debt, depression, fear? All darkness. But healing, blessing, protection, long life, prosperity, honor? All light. Every single time.
Once you know which column something belongs to, you know where God stands. God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
"Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes]." James 1:17
He is not the Father of temptation. He is not the author of your pain.
"Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am being tempted by God' [for temptation does not originate from God, but from our own flaws]; for God cannot be tempted by [what is] evil, and He Himself tempts no one." James 1:13
Anything that contradicts the will of God does not belong in your life. You belong to the kingdom of light.
Conclusion
Today, let this truth settle deep into your spirit. You are not born to merely survive. You are born to carry the God-kind of life, to walk in light, to bring change wherever you go. When you step into a room, the darkness has to respond to the light you carry. When you speak the Word of God over your situation, things begin to shift. The life of God was breathed into creation, and through Jesus Christ, that same life has been breathed into you. Receive it fully, walk in it boldly, and let it flow.
Reflect on This
When you face a difficult situation, do you instinctively place it in the "darkness" column and remind yourself that it does not belong in your life as a child of God?
Are you meditating more on the world's definition of life — full of ups and downs — or on the God-kind of life that Jesus came to restore in you?
Prayer
Father, I thank You that I have received Your Son Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and because of that, I have the God-kind of life flowing in me. I declare that Your life is manifested in my body, my mind, my family, and every area of my world. Every sickness, every failure, every darkness has no place in me because I walk in the light of life. Rivers of living water flow from my innermost being right now, bringing life to every dry and dead place around me. I walk as a carrier of Your light, Your power, and Your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Key Takeaways
Jesus came not only to forgive sin but to restore the God-kind of life that was lost in the Garden of Eden.
Every negative situation in your life belongs in the "darkness" column and is contrary to God's will for you.
Because you carry the light of God, you bring transformation and life wherever you go.
The rivers of living water flowing from within you are available to every believer, not just those in ministry.
