Renewing your mind daily toward who Jesus is and what He has placed in you is what activates the God kind of life in practical, visible ways.

There is something deeply refreshing about starting a new day knowing that you are not alone, that you are not surviving on your own strength, and that the very source of all life is flowing through you. Today, we are going to unpack one of the most powerful truths in Scripture, a truth so real and so transforming that once you grasp it, nothing about your life will look the same again. Get ready, because this is going to stir something alive on the inside of you.

Jesus Is the Living Bread

We begin in the Gospel of John, in a passage where Jesus makes one of His most remarkable declarations. He does not say He has brought bread. He says He is the bread.

"I am the living bread that came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, believes in me, accepts me as savior, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh." John 6:51

This is not poetic language meant to sound spiritual. This is an invitation. Jesus is telling us that when we receive Him, when we truly believe and accept Him, we are not just getting a ticket to heaven. We are receiving life itself, the kind of life that God always intended for us to walk in. The kind that does not run dry, does not fade, and does not depend on your circumstances.

And then He goes further in verse 57:

"The Father of life sent me, and he is my life. In the same way, the one who feeds upon me, I will become his life" John 6:57 (TPT)

Notice how Jesus describes God here. He calls Him the Father of life. Not just a powerful God, not just a provider, but the very Father of life. And if God is the Father of life, and you are connected to Him through Jesus, then life has to flow through you. That is your connection. That is your source.

Your source of life is not your job, your bank balance, or your circumstances. God is your source.

Seeing the Real You

Here is a thought that shifts everything. Since the fall of Adam, all we have ever seen is fallen humanity. We have grown so accustomed to brokenness, limitations, and defeat that we assumed that was just how life worked. Like someone who has only ever seen a broken helicopter and assumes the broken wings are part of the original design.

But then Jesus came. And when He walked this earth, He did not just show us who God is. He showed us who we were always meant to be. He showed us the original Adam, before the fall, before the shame, before the limitations. He came and demonstrated what it looks like to walk in full connection with the Father of life.

Think about the eagle that grew up among chickens. It never flew. It never soared. It scratched at the ground just like everything around it. But the moment it saw a real eagle, everything changed. That eagle realized what it was made for.

Jesus is that revelation for you. Until you see Him clearly, until you renew your mind toward what He has done and who He says you are, you will keep living below what God has prepared for you. But now you have seen Him. Now you have no excuse to stay grounded.

"I am the bread of life, the living bread which gives and sustains life." John 6:48

Unite Your Heart and Believe

In verse 47, Jesus makes it personal:

"Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life." John 6:47

The Passion Translation puts it this way:

"I speak to you living truth: Unite your heart to me and believe and you will experience eternal life." John 6:47

Unite your heart to me. That phrase carries so much weight. It is not about religious performance. It is about connection. It is about choosing to place your trust completely in the one who is life itself. And when you do, you do not just receive eternal life as a future event. You experience it now. The God kind of life begins to flow in your body, your mind, your family, and your circumstances right now.

The Holy Spirit is the one who makes this real inside us:

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is of no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life." John 6:63

The flesh cannot produce what only the Spirit can give. When you rely on your own effort, your own strategies, your own understanding, you will always fall short. But when you lean into the life of the Holy Spirit flowing through you, that is when the impossible becomes possible.

Choose Life

Now here is the powerful moment in this passage. Many of the disciples, after hearing all of this, walked away. They stumbled at the simplicity of it. They wanted the bread He could provide, but they did not want Jesus Himself to be their bread. And many left.

Jesus then turned to the twelve and asked a question that still echoes today:

"Do you want to go away as well?" John 6:67

And Peter answered with one of the greatest declarations in all of Scripture:

"Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God." John 6:68-69

Where would we go? That is the question for all of us today. When the pressure comes, when the diagnosis comes, when the finances look impossible, where are you turning? There is only one who has the words of life. There is only one who is life. And His name is Jesus.

This brings us to one of the most direct invitations in the Word of God:

"I call heaven and earth as witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore you shall choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants." Deuteronomy 30:19

God is not hiding the answer. He tells you plainly. Choose life. Choose blessing. Choose Him. And that choice is not a one-time event. It is a daily decision. It is what you are doing right now as you open your heart to His Word.

When problems come, do not run to human reasoning. Run to the life-giving Jesus.

The Life of God Is Already in You

Here is the beautiful conclusion to all of this. If you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the life of God is not something you are waiting to receive. It is already in you. Every wisdom that God has, every authority, every measure of His holiness and power, it has been delivered to you through Jesus. You have been imparted with the God kind of life.

As you renew your mind every day, as you meditate on who He is and what He has placed inside you, that life will begin to manifest. The dry places will come alive. The dead situations will begin to move. Doors that seemed permanently shut will open. Because you are not living from your own limited resources. You are living from the overflow of the Father of life Himself.

You are not the broken helicopter. You are not the eagle that thinks like a chicken. You are a child of the living God, filled with His Spirit, carrying His life, walking in His goodness.

Conclusion

Today is a day to make a fresh choice. Choose life. Choose the living bread. Choose to unite your heart to Jesus and believe. When you do, the God kind of life flows through every part of who you are. Your connection to the Father of life is not theoretical. It is real, it is active, and it is available right now. There is nowhere else to go and no one else who holds the words of eternal life. You have chosen the right source, and that source never runs dry.

Reflect on This

  1. In what areas of your life have you been depending on your own strength instead of drawing from your connection to the Father of life?

  2. Like Peter, can you declare today with full conviction, "Lord, where else would I go? You alone have the words of life", and what would that declaration change in how you face your current challenges?

Prayer

Father, I thank You that You are the Father of life and that through Jesus, I am fully connected to that life. I declare that the God kind of life flows through my body, mind, and soul right now. I receive Your wisdom, Your authority, and Your power as already mine. I choose life, I choose blessing, and I choose You above every other option. Your life in me is producing good fruit, open doors, and divine favor in every area of my life. I believe it and I receive it. In Jesus Name, Amen.
