The Secret to Miracles Hidden in Scripture

November 03, 2026

Have you ever prayed, "Lord, show me the way" only to feel like the answer never came? What if the reason for that silence is that you were looking for a direction when the answer is actually a Person? Today, we are stepping into one of the most life-altering conversations Jesus ever had with His disciples, found in John chapter 14. And what comes out of this conversation is a truth so powerful that, once it settles in your spirit, it will change how you pray, how you speak, and how you live every single day.
You Are Not Looking for a Way. You Are Looking at the Way.
Thomas, one of the disciples, voiced a question that many of us carry in our hearts.
"Thomas said to him, 'Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?'" John 14:5
And the answer Jesus gave was not a roadmap. It was a revelation.
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6
Read that again slowly. He did not say He would show them the way. He said He is the way. He did not say He would reveal the truth. He said He is the truth. He did not say He would give them a better life. He said He is the life.
So many times we pray, "Lord, give me a sign. Show me which direction to go. Help me find the truth." But what Jesus is saying is that when you put Him first, when you place Him at the centre of every decision, every question, every uncertainty, the way reveals itself. Because He is the way. The truth becomes clear. Because He is the truth. And life, real life, the God kind of life, begins to flow. Because He is the life.
When you stop looking for the way and start looking at Jesus, the way finds you.
If you are facing a decision today and do not know which direction to take, this is your answer. You are not looking for a strategy. You are looking for a person. And when you turn to Jesus, you are not consulting a guide. You are connecting with the Way itself.
Knowing Jesus Means Knowing the Father
Jesus went even deeper. He began telling His disciples that knowing Him meant they had already come to know the Father. And this is where the conversation became extraordinary.
"If you had really known me, you would also have known my Father. And from now on you do know him and have seen him." John 14:7
Think about what He was saying. You have seen him. Not you will see him someday. You have already seen him. Because you have seen Jesus, you have seen the Father. This is not a future promise. It is a present reality.
And then Philip asked the question that so many of us have quietly wondered.
"Philip said to him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.'" John 14:8
And Jesus responded with a gentle but firm correction.
"Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father?'" John 14:9
Jesus was not frustrated with Philip. He was clarifying something that the disciples had not yet fully grasped. Every act of love Jesus showed, every miracle He performed, every word He spoke, it was the Father expressing Himself through the Son. Jesus came to showcase the Father. To demonstrate His heart. To reveal His nature.
When you see how Jesus loved people, you are seeing how the Father loves people. When you see how Jesus healed, how He restored, how He welcomed the broken and the outcast, you are seeing the Father in action. They are one.
The Father Lives in You and You Live in Him
Now we come to the verse that brings everything together. This is the truth that has the power to silence every fear, every feeling of loneliness, and every sense of inadequacy you have ever carried.
"Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works." John 14:10
Jesus did not speak on His own initiative. The Father was living in Him, and the Father's desires became the words that Jesus spoke. Then the Holy Spirit acted on those words and brought them into reality.
This is not just a theological point. This is a pattern for your life.
The Father has desires. Jesus speaks those desires. The Holy Spirit manifests them. And this same pattern is available to you today. Because the same Father who lived in Jesus now lives in you.
You are not living this life alone. The Father lives in you and you live in the Father. Nothing can separate that.
Paul confirmed this truth when he wrote that nothing in all of creation can separate us from the love of God. You cannot be disconnected from the Father. That union is permanent. The Christian life is not about reaching toward God from a distance. It is about recognising the connection that already exists.
"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
So when you wake up tomorrow morning and the weight of life feels heavy, when you look at the challenges ahead and wonder how you are going to handle them, remember this: you are not walking into that day alone. The Father lives in you. You live in Him. That is not something you have to earn or work toward. It is already your reality.
Entering the Season of Miracles
Once you understand that the Father lives in you, the way you speak begins to change. Your words are no longer just your own thoughts and opinions. They become the expressed desires of the Father. And when you speak those desires, the Holy Spirit acts on them.
This is the same principle that was at work in creation. God the Father desired light. The word went forth. The Holy Spirit moved. And light appeared. That same creative, life-giving dynamic is available to every believer who understands their connection with the Father.
Let the prayer of your heart today be: "Lord, let my words not be my own, but let them come from You. Let my tongue speak what You desire, and let Your power flow through my life."
Because when the Father lives in you and you live in Him, and when your words become His words, what follows is not ordinary. What follows is the miraculous. Signs and wonders. Power and breakthrough. A life that reflects the glory of God to everyone around you.
The Father is living in you. You are living in Him. And the miracles are not just coming. They are already flowing.
Conclusion
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Not a path you follow from a distance, but a Person you are united with. You have seen the Father because you have seen Jesus. And because the Father lives in you, your words carry His power, your life carries His purpose, and your story carries His glory. Step into this day knowing you are not alone. You are living in the Father, and the Father is living in you.
Reflect on This
How does knowing that you are already connected to the Father, rather than reaching toward Him from a distance, change the way you approach prayer and daily decisions?
If your words had the power to express the Father's desires and be acted upon by the Holy Spirit, what would you choose to speak over your life and circumstances today?
Prayer
Father, I declare that You live in me and I live in You. I am not separated from Your love, Your power, or Your presence. Today I choose to speak Your desires and not my own. Let every word that comes from my mouth carry life, truth, and the power of Your Holy Spirit. I am entering a season of miracles because You dwell in me and You perform Your mighty works through me. I receive this truth fully and walk in it boldly. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Key Takeaways
Jesus is not simply a guide who points you to the way. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and placing Him at the centre of every decision brings clarity and direction.
Knowing Jesus means you have already seen and experienced the Father, because they are one and Jesus came to fully reveal the Father's heart.
Your connection with the Father is not something you are working toward. It is already established and nothing in creation can break it.
When you speak the desires of the Father, the Holy Spirit acts on those words and miraculous works begin to flow through your life.
