Dead Things Are Coming Alive Right Now

October 31, 2026

There is something powerful waiting for you today. No matter what situation you are walking through, no matter how dead things may look around you, God has a word for you right now. And that word is not defeat. That word is not shame. That word is not the end. The word God has spoken over your life, from the very beginning, is life.
Declare Before You See
Look at what happens at the tomb of Lazarus. Verse 44 says:
"Out came the man who had been dead, his hands and feet tightly wrapped in burial clothes, and with a burial cloth wrapped around his face. Jesus said to them, 'Unwrap him and release him.'" John 11:44
That same word of release is being spoken over you today. You cannot stay in the same bondage. You are being released in the name of Jesus.
And look at what happened next. Verse 45 tells us:
"Many of the Jews who had come to be with Mary and who were eyewitnesses to what Jesus had done believed in him." John 11:45
The miracle made people believe. And here is something worth sitting with. Jesus spoke before the miracle happened. He declared what He wanted to see before He saw it. There is a structure to how miracles work. First, you thank God. Second, you say what you want to see. Third, you see what you said. Fourth, it enables those around you to believe. So if you have been speaking, believing, and declaring, and you have not yet seen the manifestation, do not give up. The miracle is already real in the spiritual realm. Keep believing. Keep moving forward. One day, the physical manifestation will follow.
The Grain That Changed Everything
As we move into John chapter 12, Jesus begins to speak about something astonishing. He speaks about a grain of wheat.
"I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone, just one grain, never more. But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest." John 12:24
Jesus is not just talking about farming. He is prophesying about Himself. He is the grain. He is the one who would fall into the ground and die. And because He died, there would be a harvest beyond what anyone could imagine. He died so that you could bear fruit. He died so that you could be healed. He died so that you could live in the goodness of God, walk in His blessing, and experience the fullness of life He intended for you.
He died so that you will be fruitful. He died so that you will live.
This is not just theology. This is personal. Jesus looked ahead to the cross and said, I will go there. I will fall into the ground. And because I do, many will live.
Two Kinds of Life
John 12:25 takes this further:
"The one who loves his life eventually loses it through death, but the one who hates his life in this world and is concerned with pleasing God will keep it for life eternal." John 12:25
There are two kinds of life being described here. One is the life built on the world's system, where you climb by your own effort, you carry your own weight, and when you fall, no one is there to catch you. The other is the God kind of life, where you speak the word, you believe it, you step out in faith, and you watch His promises become real in your circumstances.
The person who clings to the worldly system misses true life. But the one who detaches from that system and finds life in Jesus will enjoy it forever. Not just for a season. Forever.
True life does not begin when your circumstances change. True life begins when you find Jesus.
The Father Will Shower His Favor
And then Jesus makes a stunning promise in verse 26:
"If anyone serves me, he must continue to faithfully follow me without hesitation, holding steadfastly to me, conforming to my example in living, and if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in me. And whenever I am in heaven's glory, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him." John 12:26
One translation puts it this way: the Father will shower His favor upon your life. Think about what a shower feels like. The water does not drip. It pours. In the same way, God's favor is not a trickle. It is an outpouring. The Father wants to honor you. He wants to reward you. He wants to lift you up, not put you in shame.
Conclusion
God has always been speaking one thing. From the beginning, through Jesus, and by the Holy Spirit, the message has never changed. Life. Healing. Freedom. Honor. When you rise up in the morning, thank God for life. When you step into your day, thank Him that you carry that life into the world around you. The Father commanded Jesus to give you life. Jesus spoke it. The Holy Spirit seals it. And now it belongs to you.
Reflect on This
In what areas of your life do you need to hear Jesus say, "Unwrap and release," and are you ready to step out of those old grave clothes today?
Are you living from the world's system of effort and striving, or have you fully stepped into the God kind of life where His word is your foundation?
Prayer
Father, I thank You that Your command over my life is life, not death, not shame, not defeat. I receive the abundant life Jesus died to give me. I declare that I am unwrapped and released from every bondage. Your favor is being showered over me right now, and I walk in the victory Jesus purchased on the cross. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Key Takeaways
Jesus speaks life over every dead situation, and His word is active and powerful even before the physical manifestation appears.
There is a structure to miracles: thank God, declare what you want to see, watch it happen, and let others believe through what they witness in your life.
Jesus is the grain of wheat who died so that you could bear fruit, be healed, and live in the fullness of God's blessing.
The Father's desire is to honor and shower His favor on everyone who follows Jesus, not to judge or shame them.
