The Secret Power Behind Everything God Created
September 01, 2026
Have you ever wondered why some people seem to thrive no matter what life throws at them, while others feel stuck no matter how hard they try? The answer may be simpler and more profound than you think. Today, we are going to explore something that has been true since the very beginning of time, something that the enemy understood long before most believers ever did. It all comes down to one thing: the Word of God.
Everything Begins With the Word
In the beginning, God did not simply wave a hand and watch the universe appear. He spoke. Every mountain, every ocean, every living creature came into existence through the power of His spoken Word. The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field — all of it was spoken into being.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
This is not just a poetic introduction to the Gospel of John. It is a foundational truth about reality itself. Without the Word, there is nothing. Everything that exists in the visible world was first created in the invisible realm through the Word of God. The invisible creates the visible. And if you want to bring something from the invisible realm into your life, you have to use the Word.
When God formed Adam, He first declared His intention before He ever reached for the dust of the ground. He said,
"Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:26-27
The Word came before the action. And then, after forming man, something extraordinary happened.
"Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature." Genesis 2:7
That breath, that very life given to Adam, was the Word of God breathed directly into humanity. Man was not just made from the ground. Man was made alive by the Word.
You Were Designed to Stay Connected to the Word
Think about how God created the fish. He did not form them separately and then place them in the sea. He created them within the water.
"And God said, 'Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.' So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:20-21
The fish were created in the water, which means the water is their source. If you pull a fish out of the water, it dies. Not because something attacked it, but because it has been cut off from the very environment it was created to live in. The same principle applies to the animals.
"Now out of the ground the Lord God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name." Genesis 2:19
Every animal came from the ground, and every fish came from the sea. You cannot swap them. You cannot place the fish in the ground or the land animal under the sea. They will die, because they have been separated from the source of their creation.
Now here is where it gets personal. Man was created by the Word. That means the Word is your source. Your life, your vitality, your purpose, your strength — all of it flows from staying connected to the Word of God. When you disconnect from the Word, you are doing the same thing as pulling a fish out of water. You were not designed to live that way.
"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life." John 6:63
The Word is not just information. It is spirit. It is life. The very same life that was breathed into Adam's nostrils is carried in the Word of God today. Every time you read it, speak it, and declare it, you are breathing life into your situation.
You cannot separate the fish from the sea and expect it to live. You cannot separate yourself from the Word and expect to thrive.
Why the Enemy Attacks Through Words
Here is something that will change the way you see every spiritual battle you face. The enemy understood the power of the Word before most of us ever did. He knew that man was created by the Word and kept alive by the Word. So if he wanted to bring man down, he could not do it with brute force. He had to use the same principle of creation. He had to use words.
That is exactly what happened in the Garden of Eden. The serpent did not physically overpower Adam and Eve. He came with twisted words. He took what God said and distorted it. He planted doubt. He suggested that God was withholding something. He used language to corrupt the connection between humanity and their Creator.
And that same strategy has never changed. When the enemy whispers, "Your healing is not coming," or "Your family is cursed," or "God doesn't care about your situation," he is using the same weapon he has always used. Words.
But here is the beautiful truth on the other side of that. When God brought all the animals before Adam, whatever Adam called each creature, that became its name. God gave Adam the authority to speak over creation, and whatever he declared became reality.
Every word you speak matters. Every declaration you make is either building your life or tearing it down.
You have that same authority today. When you speak the Word of God over your situation, you are not just reciting words. You are activating the same creative power that formed the universe. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. And when you hear it, declare it, and hold onto it, it becomes alive and active in your circumstances.
This is not a formula or a technique. It is the very principle by which God designed life to work. Stay connected to the Word, and you stay connected to your source. Speak the Word, and you release the power of God into your situation.
Conclusion
You were not made to simply survive. You were created to be connected to the living Word of God, drawing life, strength, and authority from that unbreakable source. The enemy knows this, and that is why he works so hard to get you to doubt it, ignore it, or replace it with lesser voices. But today, you are reminded that the same Word that created the heavens and the earth, the same breath that gave life to Adam, is available to you right now. Open your heart to it. Speak it. Declare it. And watch life come into every dry place.
Reflect on This
In what areas of your life have you been living disconnected from the Word of God, and how can you begin to reestablish that connection today?
What specific promises from the Word of God can you begin declaring over your circumstances this week?
Prayer
Father, I thank You that Your Word is spirit and life. I declare that I am connected to You, my source, and everything You created me to be is flowing in my life right now. Your Word is alive in me, and I speak it boldly over every challenge, every fear, and every dry place. Life, healing, strength, and purpose are mine because I am rooted in You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Key Takeaways
Everything in creation was formed by the Word of God and must stay connected to its source to truly live.
Man was designed to be sustained by the Word of God, just as fish are sustained by the sea.
The enemy has always used twisted words to attack, which means your greatest defense is speaking God's Word boldly.
Every declaration you make based on God's Word activates His creative power in your situation.
