Dreams Never Die

Today, let's embrace a powerful truth that will transform how you see your circumstances. Sometimes life presents us with evidence that our God-given dreams are dead, that our promises have failed, and that what we hoped for will never come to pass. But I want to encourage you with a message that will reignite your faith and restore your hope.
When Dreams Seem Dead
Jacob lived for years believing a devastating lie. He thought his beloved son Joseph was dead, torn apart by wild animals. The evidence seemed overwhelming - a bloodied robe, the testimony of his other sons, and years of silence. Jacob's heart grew numb with grief, and he accepted what appeared to be an unchangeable reality.
How often do we find ourselves in similar places? We look at our circumstances, our health, our relationships, our finances, and conclude that our dreams are dead. We see the "evidence" and allow our hearts to become numb to God's promises.
But here's what Jacob didn't know, Joseph wasn't dead at all. In fact, he had become the most powerful man in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh himself.
The God Who Raises the Dead
When Joseph's brothers finally revealed the truth to Jacob, they declared:
"Joseph is still alive! In fact, he is ruler of all Egypt." - Genesis 45:26
Jacob was stunned. He couldn't believe it. Years of living with false evidence had conditioned his heart to reject even good news when it came.
This is where we must be different. We serve the God who specializes in resurrection power. As Scripture tells us:
"As it is written: 'I have made you a father of many nations.' He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed - the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not." - Romans 4:17
Abraham believed in a God who could bring life from death and create something from nothing. This same faith is available to us today.
Your Joseph Is Still Alive
Whatever you think is dead in your life - your health, your marriage, your finances, your ministry, your dreams - I want to declare to you today: your Joseph is still alive. That promise God gave you years ago isn't buried; it's being prepared for a grand revelation.
Your dream is not dead; it's being positioned for promotion.
Just as Joseph went from the pit to the palace, from the prison to power, God is working behind the scenes in your situation. What looks like defeat is actually divine setup for your greatest victory.
Protected in His Presence
When Joseph revealed himself to his family, he made them an incredible promise:
"You shall live in the region of Goshen and be near me - you, your children and grandchildren, your flocks and herds, and all you have. I will provide for you there, because five years of famine are still to come. Otherwise you and your household and all who belong to you will become destitute." - Genesis 45:10-11
Joseph didn't just offer survival; he offered proximity, provision, and protection. When you stay close to God's presence, when you remain near His heart, you are shielded from the famines and failures that devastate others.
In God's presence, you don't just survive, you thrive. Your children and grandchildren are covered. Your future generations are protected. This is the inheritance of those who trust in the Lord.
Shining in Dark Places
Even in Egypt, a land of darkness and deception, Joseph became a light. He didn't just survive the corrupt system; he transformed it. Scripture reminds us:
"Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, 'children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.' Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky." - Philippians 2:14-15
You are called to shine like stars in this dark world. By holding fast to God's Word, by trusting His promises even when circumstances suggest otherwise, you become a beacon of hope in your generation.
Calling Things Into Existence
The same faith that Abraham demonstrated is credited to us today. Romans makes this clear:
"The words 'it was credited to him' were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness." - Romans 4:23-24
We serve a God who calls things that are not as though they were. Today, you can speak life over dead situations. You can call forth healing where there is sickness, restoration where there is brokenness, and abundance where there is lack.
Conclusion
Don't let your heart become numb like Jacob's did. Don't accept the false evidence that suggests your dreams are dead. Your Joseph - that God-given promise, that divine dream, that supernatural breakthrough - is not only alive but is being prepared for a magnificent revelation.
God has positioned you to rule and have dominion. He created you to be the head and not the tail, to be above and not beneath. Trust His word, stay close to His presence, and watch as He transforms your pit into a palace.
Reflect on This
What "dead" situation in your life needs to be called back to life through God's resurrection power?
How can you position yourself closer to God's presence to receive His protection and provision during challenging seasons?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You that my dreams are not dead but alive in You. I declare that what appears to be finished is actually being prepared for promotion. I speak life over every dead situation in my life - my health, relationships, finances, and future. I call forth Your promises and trust in Your resurrection power. I am positioned in Your presence, protected by Your love, and empowered by Your Spirit. My Joseph is alive, and my breakthrough is coming. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Key Takeaways
False evidence can make our hearts numb to God's promises, but our dreams are still alive in Him.
Where we see an end, God see a beginning; He is the master of bringing lifeless dreams back to light.
Staying close to God's presence provides protection and provision even during difficult seasons.
We are called to shine like stars in this dark world by holding fast to God's Word.
The same resurrection faith that Abraham had is available to us today.
