You Are More Than Just Human
October 23, 2026
Have you ever felt like you were living far below your potential? Like something was missing, or life just felt ordinary and purposeless? Today's message is going to shake that thinking loose. Because the truth is, you were never designed to be ordinary. You were created for something far greater than you may have ever imagined. Let's step into this powerful truth together.
Held Securely in the Father's Hand
There is something profoundly comforting about knowing that you are held. Not just held by anyone, but held by both Jesus and the Father. In John chapter 10, Jesus makes a declaration that should anchor your soul:
"My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand." John 10:29
And then immediately after, Jesus adds:
"I and the Father are one." John 10:30
Think about what this means for you. One hand is held by Jesus, and the other by the Father, and together they are one. You are completely secure. There is no gap, no weakness, no door through which the enemy can pull you away. You are held by the fullness of God Himself.
This also settles one of the most common questions that gets raised about Jesus. He was not merely a good teacher or a prophet. He claimed, clearly and repeatedly, to be God. The Jewish leaders understood this so well that they picked up stones to throw at Him because of it. They said it plainly in John 10:33:
"We are not going to stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, make yourself out to be God." John 10:33
They were right about one thing. Jesus was absolutely claiming to be God. That is not blasphemy. That is the truth. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are not three separate beings. They are one God, expressed in three persons. You worship one God, and Jesus is that God.
You Are Made in the Image of God
Now here is where things get deeply personal and life-changing. When the religious leaders challenged Jesus, He turned the conversation in a direction that reveals something stunning about your identity. He pointed them back to their own scriptures and asked a question they could not dismiss:
"Is it not written in your Law, 'I said, you are gods'?" John 10:34
And then He explained that the scripture cannot be broken. It cannot be undone or annulled. He was pointing directly to Psalm 82:
"I said, 'You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you.'" Psalm 82:6
Do not let that pass you by. God Himself said it. You are gods. Not God with a capital G, as in the Almighty Creator, but you are created as mini-gods, bearing His image and likeness, designed to represent Him and rule this earth. This is not arrogance. This is your God-given identity.
You were not created to merely survive. You were created to carry the image of the living God.
God designed you to be His representative on this earth. That means wherever you go, you carry His presence. Whatever you speak in faith, it carries weight. Whatever territory you step into, the Kingdom of Heaven moves with you.
The Weight of Ignorance
But here is the painful part. Psalm 82 also carries a warning. Verse 5 says:
"They do not know, nor do they understand; they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken." Psalm 82:5
When God's people do not walk in the revelation of who they are, the foundations of society shake. The world is not broken simply because bad people exist. It is broken because the sons and daughters of God are not walking in their identity. When you do not know who you are, you live like a mere mortal, and the earth suffers for it.
This is why identity matters so deeply. When the disciples finally understood who they were after the resurrection, everything changed. Wherever they went, the sick were healed. The dead were raised. Prison doors swung open. Chains fell off. Even the shadow of Peter brought healing to those lying in the streets. Why? Because they were walking in the full revelation that they were sons and daughters of the living God, just like Jesus.
Completely Filled with God
And this is not just a positional truth. It is a present, living reality inside you right now. Look at what the Apostle Paul writes:
"For in Him all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, completely expressing the divine essence of God." Colossians 2:9
That verse describes Jesus. But it does not stop there. The very next verse applies it directly to you:
"And in Him you have been made complete, achieving spiritual stature through Christ, and He is the head over all rule and authority of every angelic and earthly power." Colossians 2:10
You are completely filled with God. You are not empty. You are not lacking. You are not waiting for God to show up because He already lives inside you in His fullness. Think of it this way. When a balloon is filled with helium, its very nature changes. Gravity says it should fall, but the gas inside it causes it to rise. That is what happens when you are filled with God. The natural law says you should fail, struggle, and fall short. But the God inside you causes you to rise, to soar, to go higher.
When you are filled with God, the laws of limitation no longer define your ceiling.
You are called to soar like an eagle. You are created in the image of the Lion of Judah, and when you roar in faith, the enemy runs.
Conclusion
You are not ordinary. You have never been ordinary. From the moment God breathed life into you, He declared that you carry His image, His authority, and His nature. Jesus came to remind you of this truth and to restore what sin had stolen from your identity. You are the son or daughter of the Most High God. You are completely filled with His presence. You are His representative on this earth, and wherever you go, you bring His Kingdom with you. Walk in that truth today. Declare it out loud. Let it change the way you see yourself, because when you see yourself rightly, the world around you will begin to change.
Reflect on This
Have you been living in the full revelation of your identity as a child of the Most High God, or have you been settling for less than what God designed for you?
What would change in your daily life if you truly believed that you are completely filled with God and that His fullness overflows within you?
Prayer
Father God, I thank You that I am made in Your image and likeness. I declare today that I am a son and daughter of the Most High God. I am completely filled with Your presence, Your power, and Your fullness. No weapon formed against me can prosper. No sickness can claim my body. No lie of the enemy can define my identity. I walk in the revelation that I am like Jesus in this world, and I carry Your Kingdom wherever I go. Your promises over my life cannot be broken, and I receive them fully by faith. In Jesus Name, Amen.
