Image of Abraham
Abraham rejoiced at a mere glimpse of Christ's coming, which means you have far greater reason to live in joy as someone who walks in the fullness of that covenant.

There is a joy that goes beyond what circumstances can produce. It is the kind of joy that comes from knowing something so magnificent, so eternally true, that it changes how you see everything around you. Today, we are stepping into a truth that Abraham himself caught a glimpse of, and it filled him with overwhelming delight. If Abraham could rejoice at the mere revelation of what was coming, how much more should we be living in a place of deep, unshakeable joy right now?

Abraham Saw What You Now Walk In

In John chapter 8, Jesus made a statement that completely baffled the crowd around Him. They had been questioning His authority, pushing back on His teachings, and accusing Him at every turn. But then He said something extraordinary:

"Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, My incarnation. He saw it and was delighted." John 8:56

The crowd could not process this. They pushed back immediately:

"Then the Jews said to Him, 'You are not even fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?'" John 8:57

And Jesus answered with one of the most staggering declarations in all of Scripture:

"Jesus replied, 'I assure you and most solemnly say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM.'" John 8:58

The crowd picked up stones. They could not accept what He was saying. But let us not miss what Jesus was revealing here. Abraham, thousands of years before the cross, received a revelation. He saw, through the eyes of faith, that a day was coming when death would no longer be able to hold anyone. He saw that Jesus was going to come to earth and give humanity the God-kind of life. And that revelation filled him with such extraordinary joy that Jesus described it as Abraham being overjoyed and delighted.

Abraham rejoiced at the revelation of what was coming. You are living on the other side of what he only saw from a distance.

Think about that for a moment. Abraham never held the New Testament in his hands. He never heard the name of Jesus preached in a church. He caught a glimpse of what was coming through faith, and it was enough to fill him with overwhelming gladness. You have the full picture. You have the complete revelation. You have Jesus Himself dwelling within you through the Holy Spirit. How much more reason do you have to walk in joy today?

You Carry Something Greater Than Any Old Testament Prophet

Here is a truth that the church often overlooks, and it is time to let it fully settle in your heart. You are not living under the old covenant. You are not limited to the experiences of the men and women of the Old Testament, as great as they were. You actually carry something far greater.

David was a man after God's own heart. Elijah called fire down from heaven. Elisha raised the dead. These were extraordinary men of God. But they lived under a covenant that required them to go to a temple to seek God's presence. The Holy Spirit would come upon them for specific moments and seasons. They were looking forward to something that had not yet arrived.

But you. You are born of God. The Holy Spirit does not just visit you. He lives in you. He never leaves you. He never forsakes you. You are not the one seeking the temple. You are the temple.

"Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" 1 Corinthians 3:16

This means you do not need to pray for the spirit of Elijah. You do not need to seek the anointing of David. You already carry something better. You have been born into a better covenant, established on better promises. Abraham rejoiced to see the generation that would walk in what Jesus came to bring, and you are that generation.

You are not living in the age of longing. You are living in the age of fulfillment.

Walking in the God-Kind of Life

So what does it actually look like to walk in this life that Jesus came to give? It means that you do not accept death as the final word over any area of your life. Jesus raised people from the dead because that is the God-kind of life, and that same life is in you. It is not just spiritual. It is physical. It reaches into your body, your relationships, your finances, your future, and every dead situation you are facing.

Every organ that is not functioning properly, the life of God is available for it. Every situation that looks like a dead end, the resurrection power of Jesus speaks life into it. Every bank account, every closed door, every relationship that seems beyond repair. Life. Because Jesus said:

"I assure you and most solemnly say to you, if anyone keeps My word, by living in accordance with My teaching and message, he will indeed never ever see and experience death." John 8:51

This is the covenant you stand in. Every curse has been turned into blessing. The blood of Jesus is speaking on your behalf right now. Just as Moses stretched out his rod and saw transformation, the blood of Jesus Christ covers your territory and transforms everything it touches.

You are not walking like a slave wondering if God will show up. You are walking as a child of the King, surrounded by angels, filled with the Spirit, carrying the light of God into every room you enter. You are walking in the anointing. You are walking in the miracles. You are walking in the glorious presence of God. Wherever you go, dead things must come to life, because the life-giver lives in you.

Speak life over every dead situation. The life of God in you is more powerful than any darkness around you.

And just as God's Word declares:

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." 1 Corinthians 2:9

The plans God has for your life are beyond what you can currently see or imagine. Abraham caught a glimpse and was overjoyed. You stand in the full light of what has been accomplished. Rise up and walk in it.

Conclusion

Abraham saw what was coming from thousands of years away and was filled with extraordinary joy. You are standing in the fullness of what he saw. You carry a covenant that surpasses anything the old testament saints ever knew. You are the temple of the living God. You walk in His light, in His life, in His power. Today, let every dead thing in your world hear the voice of the One who lives inside you. Speak life. Walk as the child of the King that you truly are. Open doors are ahead of you. New testimonies are being written. The good news is on its way, because you carry the God-kind of life.

Reflect on This

  1. If Abraham could rejoice at merely a glimpse of what Jesus would do, what does that say about the level of joy and confidence you should be walking in today as someone who lives on this side of the cross?

  2. Are there areas in your life where you have been living beneath your covenant, accepting closed doors, sickness, or lack as permanent, instead of speaking the life of God over them?

Prayer

Father, I thank You that I carry something greater than any old covenant prophet ever held. I am Your temple. Your Spirit lives in me, and Your life flows through me. I declare that every dead situation in my life must come alive right now. My body receives Your life. My finances receive Your blessing. Every closed door begins to open. I walk today not as a slave but as Your child, surrounded by Your angels, walking in Your light, and carrying Your glory wherever I go. Abraham rejoiced to see what I now walk in, and I receive it fully today. Good news is coming. Open doors are ahead. Life is manifesting in every corner of my world. In Jesus Name, Amen.
