Family moving towards crosss
We have confident access to God's throne of grace whenever we need help.

As we stepped into a new month, there's a powerful truth we must embrace: God remembers you. While people may forget your kindness, your contributions, or even your existence, our heavenly Father never forgets. Just as He was with Joseph through betrayal, false accusations, and imprisonment, He is with you today. Let's explore how to align our thoughts with His promises and experience His unfailing presence.

The Unchanging Presence

Joseph's story in Genesis reveals a profound truth about God's character. Despite facing betrayal by his brothers, being sold into slavery, and wrongfully imprisoned, one thing remained constant:

"But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison." - Genesis 39:21

Everything in Joseph's life was changing, his circumstances, his location, his status, but God's presence never wavered. The Bible repeatedly emphasizes this point in Genesis 39, stating four times that "the Lord was with Joseph." This wasn't just spiritual rhetoric; it manifested as tangible favor, even in prison.

When life seems unstable and unpredictable, remember that God's presence is your one constant. He doesn't abandon you when circumstances turn difficult. His love doesn't diminish when others reject you. His plan doesn't change when obstacles arise.

When People Forget

Perhaps one of the most painful moments in Joseph's journey came when he interpreted the cupbearer's dream, asking only to be remembered when the man was restored to his position. Yet Genesis tells us:

"The chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him." -  Genesis 40:23

How crushing to be forgotten by the very person who could have helped! Joseph remained in prison for two more years because of human forgetfulness. This pattern repeats itself in our lives, people forget our kindness, overlook our contributions, and sometimes even our existence.

But here's the beautiful contrast:

"God remembered us when we were down, His love never quits." - Psalm 136:23

Unlike the cupbearer, God never suffers from memory lapses concerning His children. The blood of Jesus continually speaks better things on our behalf,

"Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel." - Hebrew 12:24

When you feel forgotten by others, remember that you are always on God's mind.

Aligning Your Imagination

Our minds are powerful tools given by God, yet we often use them to imagine worst-case scenarios, failures, and disappointments. True success comes when we align our thinking with God's Word.

This isn't merely positive thinking; it's about synchronizing our minds with divine truth. When we fill our imagination with God's promises rather than our fears, we position ourselves to receive His favorable answers.

Joseph never forgot the dream God gave him, even when circumstances made fulfillment seem impossible. His unwavering faith in God's promise sustained him through years of hardship.

Approaching the Throne

One of our greatest privileges is access to God's throne of grace:

"Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." - Hebrews 4:16

Notice the instruction to come with confidence. Not arrogance, but the quiet assurance that we are welcome. God is available 24/7, eager to help, ready to provide mercy and grace precisely when we need it.

Unlike human relationships where access is limited and conditional, nothing stops us from approaching God. Through Jesus, we have direct access to the Father—to His presence, His healing, His favor, and His success.

Conclusion

As you journey through this year, remember that God's favor rests upon you. While people may forget, God remembers. While circumstances change, His presence remains constant. You are seated with Christ in heavenly places, positioned above your problems, not beneath them.

This is your year of favorable answer. Whatever you're seeking, healing, provision, breakthrough, restoration, God remembers you and His love never quits. Trust not in people who may forget, but in the God who always remembers.

Reflect on This

  1. In what areas of your life do you feel forgotten, and how might remembering God's constant presence change your perspective on those situations?

  2. How can you intentionally align your imagination with God's Word rather than with your fears or past disappointments?

Prayer

Father, I thank You that You remember me always. Your love never quits, even when I'm at my lowest. I declare that I am seated with Christ above my problems, not beneath them. Your favor surrounds me like a shield. This year, I receive Your favorable answers to my prayers. Your blood speaks better things over my life, my family, and my circumstances. I am never forgotten, never abandoned, always loved. In Jesus' name, Amen.
