Jesus speaking to an young man
We must diligently strive to know God as Jesus knows Him by embracing His teachings.

Let's begin this day with hearts lifted in joy and anticipation, ready to receive the transformative power of God's Word. Today, we embark on a journey to deeply understand and intimately know God, just as Jesus does. This isn't merely about adhering to religious practices or reciting scriptures; it's about cultivating a profound, personal relationship with the divine Creator. Prepare to have your understanding expanded, your perspective renewed, and your spirit uplifted as we delve into the scriptures, seeking to know God more deeply and experience the fullness of His love and grace in every aspect of our lives.

Misconceptions About God

Far too many people, unfortunately, perceive God through a distorted lens of fear, seeing Him as an angry, judgmental figure waiting to punish every misstep and transgression. This deeply flawed and inaccurate perception often stems from a lack of genuine scriptural understanding and a reliance on cultural or religious traditions that misrepresent God's true nature. Some individuals even believe that suffering, hardship, sickness, and loss are God's way of teaching lessons or disciplining His children, but this couldn't be further from the truth.

These harmful misconceptions create a barrier between us and God, hindering our ability to fully embrace His unconditional love, receive His abundant grace, and experience the transformative power of His presence in our lives.

"God is not an Angry God. God is loving father."

It's absolutely essential to dismantle these false beliefs and instead, view God through the clear and accurate lens of Jesus, understanding Him as a loving, compassionate Father who desires nothing more than to bless and guide us.

Seeing Through Jesus' Lens

Just as special glasses are absolutely necessary to fully experience the depth and dimension of a 3D movie, we need the "lens of Jesus" to accurately interpret and understand the scriptures. We must diligently strive to know God as Jesus knows Him, embracing His teachings, emulating His example, and allowing His Spirit to illuminate our hearts and minds.

The Trinity

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not simply different aspects of a single entity, but rather three distinct persons, each with their own unique attributes and roles, yet perfectly united as one God. They share a divine connection, an unbreakable bond of love and fellowship that transcends human comprehension. Unlike earthly creations, which have a beginning and an end, the Trinity has existed eternally, without beginning or end.

"Father knows the Son and Son knows the Father the Holy Spirit knows the son Holy Spirit knows the father and they know each other."

Understanding the nature of the Trinity is absolutely crucial for comprehending the fullness of God's character and His multifaceted relationship with humanity.

God is Love

"God is love." - 1 John 4:9

Even before the creation of the universe, the Triune God existed in perfect love and harmony, each member of the Trinity pouring out affection and devotion upon the others. God's love is not merely an attribute or characteristic; it is the very essence of His being. It is constant, unwavering, and unconditional. Jesus, in His earthly ministry, perfectly reflected God's attributes, showing us the fullness of His nature and revealing the depth of His love for us.

God's love is constant and unchanging. The idea that the God of the Old Testament differs from the God of the New Testament is false. God is love, and this love is consistent throughout time. Jesus, in his ministry, perfectly reflected God's attributes, revealing the true nature of God to humanity.

Jesus, in His earthly ministry, perfectly reflected God's attributes, showing us the fullness of His nature and revealing the depth of His love for us.

Born of God

"We are all born of God." - John 1:13

As believers in Christ, we are not simply ordinary human beings; we are children of God, adopted into His family and imbued with His divine nature. It's vitally important to remember our divine heritage and not limit ourselves with the false belief that we are "just human," prone to weakness, failure, and insignificance. We are created in God's image, filled with His Spirit, and empowered to live lives of purpose, passion, and power.

Jesus Reveals God

"No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known." - John 1:18

Jesus is the ultimate and complete revelation of God to humanity. He perfectly embodies the Father's heart, character, and will. To truly know God, we must diligently seek to know Jesus, studying His words, following His example, and allowing His Spirit to transform us into His likeness.

Knowing the Father

"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." - Matthew 11:27

The Father knows the Son intimately, with a depth of understanding that surpasses human comprehension. And in turn, the Son reveals the Father to those who are chosen and who accepted his invitation, granting them access to a personal and transformative relationship with the divine. Through Jesus, we can know the Father, experiencing His love, grace, and power in our lives.

Eternal Life

"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." - John 17:3

Eternal life is not merely about escaping hell and going to heaven; it's about entering into a deep, intimate, and ever-growing relationship with God. It's about knowing Him, understanding His love, and experiencing the fullness of His presence in our lives, both now and for eternity.

The Foundation of Everything

Understanding God's love is absolutely essential for every aspect of our lives. Without this solid foundation, our relationships, our careers, our dreams, and our endeavors will ultimately fall short of their true potential. When we build our lives on the bedrock of God's love, we can experience true fulfillment, lasting joy, and unwavering peace.

Knowing God More

Our prayers should not be limited to asking for material blessings or seeking solutions to our problems. Instead, our prayers should primarily focus on knowing God more intimately, just as Jesus does. This should be our ultimate goal as Christians, the driving force behind our every thought, word, and action.

When we sincerely seek to know God deeply, we open ourselves to His presence, His power, and His transformative grace in our lives. We become vessels of His love, instruments of His peace, and beacons of His hope to a world in desperate need of His light.

Conclusion

Today, let's make a conscious and deliberate commitment to knowing God more intimately. Let's diligently seek to understand His love, His character, and His will for our lives, just as Jesus does. As we grow in our relationship with Him, we will experience the fullness of life He has promised, a life of purpose, passion, and unwavering joy.

Reflect on This

  1. In what specific ways can you cultivate a deeper, more intimate relationship with God in your daily life?

  2. How can you actively challenge and dismantle any false or distorted perceptions of God that may be hindering your ability to fully embrace His love and experience His presence in your life?

I thank You for revealing Yourself to us through Jesus, Your Son, who perfectly embodies Your love, grace, and truth. I desire to know You as Jesus knows You, to understand Your heart, to walk in Your ways, and to experience the fullness of Your presence in my life. I receive Your love and grace, and I commit to walking in Your ways, to serving Your purpose, and to glorifying Your name in all that I do. In Jesus name, Amen.
