Sad Lady
The first step to resurrection is to stop crying over your situation and start speaking life to it.

Today, let's explore the transformative power of speaking life into seemingly dead situations. When circumstances appear hopeless, when dreams lie dormant, there's a divine principle at work that can resurrect what seems lost forever. This meditation will guide you through understanding how to apply this powerful truth to your own life.

The Power of Resurrection

In Luke 7, we encounter a profound story of resurrection. A widow's son had died, and as the funeral procession moved through the town, Jesus approached:

When the Lord saw the grieving mother, his heart broke for her. With great tenderness he said to her, "Please don't cry." Then he stepped up to the coffin and touched it... Jesus spoke directly to the corpse and said, "Young man, I say to you, arise and live!" - Luke 7:13-14

What happens next demonstrates a principle that applies to every area of our lives:

Immediately the young man moved, sat up, and spoke to those nearby. Jesus presented the son to his mother alive.

Notice the sequence: Jesus spoke directly to what was dead, and immediately there was movement, then full restoration. The dead situation didn't gradually improve, it immediately responded to the spoken word.

When God's Promises Seem Impossible

Sometimes God gives us promises that seem impossible when we look at our circumstances. The enemy often uses this very disconnect to discourage us.

Abraham received a promise of a child when all natural evidence contradicted the possibility. Noah was instructed to build an ark when no one had ever seen rain. Moses' parents faced the impossible choice of protecting their baby when Pharaoh had decreed death.

In each case, the promise itself could have become a source of discouragement when viewed through the lens of natural circumstances. Yet faith sees beyond the visible.

Sometimes the promise itself looks very big, but what we need to understand is that the big God who gave that promise is bigger still.

Your Dreams in the Coffin Box

Perhaps you've placed your dreams in what feels like a coffin box. You've given up because time has passed, circumstances haven't aligned, or repeated disappointments have worn you down.

Remember this: just as Jesus approached that coffin, touched it, and spoke directly to what was dead, He can do the same with your dormant dreams and seemingly impossible situations.

The first instruction Jesus gave to the grieving mother applies to us today:

"Do not go on weeping." - Luke 7:13

Stop focusing on the loss, the disappointment, the apparent death. Instead, speak directly to your situation.

Speak to Your Situation

When you're going through pain, traversing the valley of darkness, or facing difficult circumstances, that's precisely when you must speak the word of God over your situation. Whatever you've placed in the coffin box of your heart, a relationship, a dream, an opportunity, it's time to wake it up.

Jesus didn't just look at the dead young man; He spoke directly to him. Your words have creative power when aligned with God's truth.

When you stop crying and start speaking to your situation, immediately you will see movement where you felt stuck.

Presenting Dead Things to Jesus

The widow presented her dead son to Jesus, but Jesus presented the son back to her alive. What a beautiful exchange! You can present anything in a dead state to Jesus, and He can turn it around and return it to you vibrant and alive.

When David faced Goliath, he didn't see an impossible giant; he saw an opportunity to demonstrate God's power. While others cowered in fear, David changed the narrative and turned defeat into victory.

This is why David could later write:

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. - Psalm 23:5

God Has Visited His People

After witnessing the resurrection, the people exclaimed,

"God has visited his people!" - Luke 7:16

This declaration reveals the purpose of divine intervention in our lives.

Imagine if royalty visited your home everything would change. The King of Kings has visited us, not just to observe but to bless, redeem, release, and give freedom.

Many focus on Christ's second coming without fully grasping why He came the first time. He came to bless you, to restore what was lost, to bring life where there was death.

Conclusion

Whatever you've lost, whatever seems dead in your life, Jesus is your hope for change. Just as He presented the son back to his mother alive, He can restore your dreams, relationships, opportunities, and joy when you believe His word.

Stop placing your dreams in coffin boxes. Instead, present them to Jesus, speak life over them according to His word, and watch as what was once dead begins to move, sit up, and speak again.

Reflect on This

  1. What dreams or promises have you placed in a "coffin box" because circumstances made them seem impossible?

  2. How might your situation change if you stopped crying over it and instead began speaking God's word of life directly to it?

Prayer

Father, I thank You that You are the God of resurrection power. I declare that nothing in my life is beyond Your ability to restore. Today, I speak life to my dormant dreams, my challenging circumstances, and my seemingly impossible situations. I believe that as I align my words with Your truth, immediate change begins. What I present to You as dead, You will return to me fully alive. I stand in faith, knowing that You have visited me to bless, redeem, and release me into complete freedom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
