Today, let's explore a powerful truth about the choices we make and the life God has called us to live. This isn't about settling for a mixture of good and bad, but about embracing the fullness of life and blessing that God has already provided through Jesus Christ. Get ready to understand your divine inheritance and walk in the abundance that is rightfully yours.
The Parable of the Father's Wisdom
There's a story of a father and his 12-year-old son that beautifully illustrates an important principle. The boy came to his father, excited about watching a particular movie with his friends at the theater. Being a good father, he inquired about the film and discovered it contained inappropriate scenes, vulgar language, and obscene content, unsuitable for his son's age.
The father said no, but the boy insisted he must watch it. So the father made a wise decision. He told his son, "Don't go to the theater. We have a big screen at home. Invite your friends over, and I'll prepare food for everyone. You can all watch it here."
The son thought this was a great idea. On the appointed day, his friends gathered at the house to watch the movie. Just as the film was about to start, the father brought out freshly made fritters for everyone. As the boys eagerly reached for the snacks, the father stopped them. "Before you eat, I need to tell you something," he said.
"What is it?" they asked impatiently.
"You know our dog? I took a quarter teaspoon of its waste and mixed it into these fritters," he revealed.
Immediately, everyone threw the fritters into the trash and the friends ran away. The father turned to his son and asked, "Why did you throw them away? It was only a quarter teaspoon."
In that moment, the son understood his father's message.
Even a small amount of filth contaminates the whole.
Just as a tiny bit of impurity ruins the entire snack, even small amounts of obscenity, violence, or corruption in what we consume can pollute our minds and hearts.
The False Teaching of Mixture
Many people today teach that God gives both blessings and curses, life and death. They preach it from pulpits and sing it in songs. They say God provides abundant life but also brings a little death, gives blessings but also allows some curses. But this is not what Scripture teaches.
Deuteronomy 30:19 declares clearly:
"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live." - Deuteronomy 30:19
Notice what the verse says: God sets both before us, but He commands us to choose life. Life is God's will. Death is God's enemy. We are not meant to accept a mixture. We are called to choose life, always and completely.
Our Inheritance Is Pure Life
Through Jesus Christ, we don't receive a combination of life and death, blessing and curse. We receive only life, only blessing. Jesus took the curse upon Himself so that the blessing of Abraham might come upon us. He conquered death so that we might have abundant life.
We have only life, only blessing.
Death has no claim on us. Sickness has no right to us. Poverty is not our portion. These are enemies that Jesus defeated on the cross. Because of the Blessed One who bore our curse, His blessings have come upon us in fullness.
Believe this truth. Have faith in this reality. This is why God came into the world. This is why He died. This is why He rose again. He came to give us life, and life more abundantly.
Living in the Fullness of Life
When you believe in the living God, you inherit eternal life, health, prosperity, fruitfulness, protection, grace, excellence, goodness, completeness, and blessing. Let this truth sink deep into your heart and mind. Establish it firmly in your spirit.
Every voice that rises against this truth must be silenced. Every thought that contradicts God's promise of life must be demolished. Speak life. Declare life. The Author of Life is with you. His name is Jesus, and in that name is all the power you need to live victoriously.
Don't accept the lie that God gives a little bit of both. Don't settle for a mixture. God is not the author of confusion or contradiction. He is the God of life, and He has called you to walk in that life fully and completely.
Conclusion
Today, make the conscious choice to embrace life in every area of your existence. Reject the false teaching that God brings both blessing and curse, life and death. Through Jesus Christ, you have been given pure life, complete blessing, and total victory. Stand firm in this truth, speak it boldly, and watch as the life of God transforms every circumstance you face.
Reflect on This
In what areas of your life have you been accepting a "mixture" instead of choosing pure life and blessing?
How can you more intentionally reject voices that contradict God's promise of abundant life for you?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You that through Jesus Christ, I have received pure life and complete blessing. I reject every lie that says You bring both good and bad, life and death. I choose life today and every day. I declare that the life of Jesus flows through me, bringing health, prosperity, protection, and victory. I am blessed because I belong to the Blessed One. Death has no claim on me, sickness has no right to me, and lack is not my portion. I walk in the fullness of life that Jesus purchased for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
