In our spiritual journey, we often seek assurance that our God-given dreams will manifest. Today's meditation explores how divine promises unfold in perfect timing, even when circumstances suggest otherwise.
The Language of Heaven
Dreams are God's language to us. When we immerse ourselves in Scripture, our thinking transforms and our spiritual vision expands. Each time we engage with God's Word, He plants seeds of possibility within us divine dreams that align with His purpose.
"The dream is God's language."
Joseph's life illustrates this beautifully. His dreams weren't merely nighttime imaginings but prophetic glimpses of his future. Despite facing hatred, jealousy, and even attempts to destroy his vision, Joseph's God-given dreams sustained him through every trial.
When Dreams Face Opposition
The enemy despises your God-given dreams. First, he'll hate them. Then, he'll become jealous of them. Finally, he'll attempt to kill them, and sometimes through those closest to you.
Joseph's brothers said, "Here comes that dreamer!" Their contempt reveals how threatening divine vision can be to those who don't share it. They couldn't see Joseph's calling because they weren't viewing his life through a prophetic lens.
"The enemy first hates your dream, then becomes jealous of your dream, and finally wants to kill your dream."
The enemy's strategy is to keep you down, make you feel inferior, and prevent you from rising to your full stature in Christ. He wants you to be the tail, not the head, always struggling and never leading. His ultimate goal is to push you down through doubt, fear, sickness, or oppression.
"The enemy always wants to put you in a prison, in a closed box, in a place where no one can see you."
Divine Authority Over All Creation
Joseph's second dream revealed an even greater scope of divine authority. He saw the sun, moon, and eleven stars bowing down to him. This wasn't mere self-importance, it was a prophetic picture of the authority God grants His children.
"I had another dream and this time the Sun and Moon and 11 stars were bowing down to me." - Genesis 37:9
This vision reveals a profound truth: through Christ, we have authority over all creation. Every sickness, every disease, every challenge must come under our feet. The enemy cannot overcome us—he is under us. We have authority over the sun, moon, stars, and all things in this world because we are created in God's image and likeness.
When Joseph shared this dream, even his father rebuked him:
“What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?” - (Genesis 37:10)
Everyone challenged Joseph's dreams. Everyone was upset with his vision. No one could see God's purpose because they weren't looking through a prophetic lens.
Yet despite his disapproval, Jacob
"kept the matter in mind."
Something about Joseph's dream resonated with him, even if he couldn't fully embrace it. This teaches us that even when others question our God-given dreams, they may still recognize the divine fingerprint upon them.
Standing Firm in Your Vision
Even when your dreams seem delayed, they're still advancing toward fulfillment. God's timing is perfect, and His promises never fail.
"Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; it hastens to the end and will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." - Habakkuk 2:2-3
Your responsibility is to:
Capture the vision God gives you
Write it down where you can see it daily
Speak it out with faith and conviction
When opposition comes and it will remember that no circumstance can prevent God's purpose from being fulfilled. Like Joseph, your dreams may be the very thing that carries you through your darkest moments.
Freedom Declared
In Luke 13, we encounter a woman who had been bent double for eighteen years due to a spirit of infirmity. When Jesus saw her, He called her forward and declared:
"Woman, you are set free from your infirmity." - Luke 13:12
Jesus didn't just offer words of comfort; He spoke a decree of liberation. Then, He laid His hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. This powerful demonstration shows how we are released from bondages through the authority of Jesus.
Resisting the Enemy's Schemes
We have been given everything we need to overcome the enemy. We have the power, the authority, and the likeness in the image of God. We have the blood of Jesus, which speaks better words than any accusation the enemy can bring.
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." - (James 4:7)
This isn't a suggestion; it's a commandment. We must resist sickness, resist the work of the enemy in our lives by using God's Word as our weapon, believing His promises, speaking words of faith, and doing the opposite of what the enemy says.
Seated with Christ
We are not just ordinary people struggling to survive. We are raised up with Christ and seated with Him in heavenly places.
"And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus." - Ephesians 2:6
This is our true position, our spiritual reality. Whatever is under Jesus' feet is under our feet. The enemy is under our feet. We have been given dominion over him and all his works.
The Body of Christ in Action
Jesus is the head, and we are His body. We are His hands, His feet, His voice in this world. Our hands can heal. We can lay our hands on someone and declare healing because we release the power of Heaven.
"Then He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God." - (Luke 13:13)
We too can lay our hands on the sick and see them recover. We can speak words of life and witness transformation. We can be the very presence of Jesus in this world, bringing hope, healing, and deliverance to those in need.
Conclusion
Today, embrace your identity as a child of God, seated with Christ in heavenly places. Recognize the authority you have been given and exercise it boldly. Resist the enemy, speak the Word of God, and release the power of Heaven in your life and the lives of others.
Your dreams aren't just wishful thinking; they're prophetic glimpses of what God intends to accomplish through you. Though they may seem delayed, they will surely come to pass at their appointed time. Stand firm in faith, knowing that what God has promised, He is faithful to fulfill.
Through Jesus, you have access to the Father and the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome any challenge. You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you. Walk in divine authority, knowing that your dreams and visions are secure in His hands.
Reflect on This
What God-given dreams have you allowed to fade because of opposition or delay?
In what areas of your life do you need to exercise greater authority and dominion?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word and for the authority You have given me through Jesus. I declare that I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all principalities and powers. I resist the enemy and declare that he must flee from me. I release Your healing power and declare victory over every sickness, bondage, and limitation in my life. I am Your beloved child, and You are well pleased with me. I am a vessel of Your power, a channel of Your love, and an instrument of Your peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
