Jesus on Cross
God is love, His character never changed; our perception of Him did through Christ's sacrifice.

Today, we explore a profound truth that transforms our understanding of God's love. This revelation isn't found in religious rituals but in the simple yet revolutionary concept that God demonstrated His love by becoming like us.

The Love of God Revealed

At the core of our faith is a powerful declaration found in Scripture. God is not merely loving; He is love itself.

"God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him." - 1 John 4:8-9

Many religious mindsets portray God as angry and vengeful, especially in the Old Testament. Some believe Jesus came to appease this angry deity. But this misunderstands God's unchanging character. The cross didn't change God; it changed our perception of Him.

"This is real love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." - 1 John 4:10

Through Christ's sacrifice, we finally understood the depth of the Father's love that had always existed. In Jesus coming to earth, we witnessed God's love manifested in human form.

Our Fallen Condition

Before Christ, humanity existed in three tragic states:

  • Dead spiritually

  • Lost in purpose

  • Dwelling in darkness

We were like Adam, hiding from God behind inadequate coverings of our own making. When God came looking for Adam in the garden, asking "Where are you?", Adam hid behind bushes, attempting to cover his shame with fig leaves. Our fallen nature pulls us away from God rather than toward Him.

Without Jesus, it's difficult to experience internal peace because we were already dead, lost, and in darkness. We were like blind people leading other blind people, unable to find our way.

God's Loving Protection

Even God's decision to remove Adam from Eden after the fall was an act of love, not punishment. He couldn't allow humanity to eat from the tree of life and live forever in a broken state. Imagine existing eternally with terminal illness, with no hope of healing or restoration. God's apparent punishment was actually protection from eternal suffering.

God Became Man

To rescue mankind from this fallen state, God did something extraordinary: He became one of us.

"Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself in a similar manner partook of the same nature, that by going through death he might bring to nothing and make of no effect him who had the power of death, that is the devil." - Hebrews 2:14

Jesus became fully human to identify with us completely. While we often say we are "in Christ," Jesus first came to show He is "in human form." He identified with us fully.

"By embracing death, Jesus set free those who live their entire lives in bondage to the tormenting dread of death." - Hebrews 2:15

When we say, "You don't understand my pain," Jesus can truthfully respond, "I've been there." He didn't observe our brokenness from a distance. He experienced our darkness, our lostness, our death.

The Divine Exchange

A divine exchange happened at the cross: Jesus experienced our lifestyle so we could experience His. He took our death so we could have His life. He embraced our darkness so we could walk in His light.

Because He experienced our fallen lifestyle, our broken lifestyle, our blind lifestyle, now it's time for us to experience the Jesus lifestyle, the zoe lifestyle. We can boldly say "I am in Christ" because He became human so we can become like Jesus.

Experiencing Zoe Life

Now is the time to experience Jesus' lifestyle, the zoe life, God's own quality of existence. This isn't just about surviving; it's about thriving with divine vitality in every area:

  • Physical healing

  • Emotional wholeness

  • Spiritual vibrancy

  • Freedom from bondage

The more we understand and receive God's love demonstrated through Christ, the more our fears dissolve. Perfect love casts out fear. When we truly grasp that Jesus entered our circumstances, our brokenness, our very death to set us free, fear loses its grip.

God's Silent Love

In Zephaniah, we discover a beautiful picture of God's heart toward us:

"He will rest in silent satisfaction and in his love he will be silent and make no mention of past sin or even recall them." - Zephaniah 3:17 (AMP)

This is the God who loves us, not condemning or constantly reminding us of our failures, but rejoicing over us with shouts of joy. His love makes no mention of past sins. Unlike human love that often keeps score of wrongs, divine love forgets our failures completely.

Conclusion

Because Jesus experienced death, we can experience life. Because He entered our darkness, we can walk in His light. This divine exchange changes everything. Today is the day to activate the experience of life in every section of your life, in every part of your body. Let the zoe life flow upon you, your family, and your children. Wherever you go, experience the power of Jesus, the power of zoe life, the power of the Kingdom of Light.

Reflect on This

  1. How might your life change if you fully embraced the reality that Jesus experienced your exact circumstances so you could experience His divine life?

  2. In what areas are you still living as if bound by death, darkness, or brokenness, despite Christ's finished work?

Prayer

I declare that because Jesus fully identified with my human condition, I now fully identify with His divine nature. I am free from bondage, fear, and death. His zoe life flows through every part of my being, my mind, emotions, body, and relationships. I walk in light, not darkness. I experience wholeness, not brokenness. I live in victory, not defeat. Thank You, Father, for this divine exchange that has transformed my identity and destiny forever. In Jesus' name Amen.
