Man in a black suit holds and reads papers by a bright window, wearing a blue tie and gold watch.
You carry the authority to call dead dreams, buried promises, and impossible situations back to life through the word spoken in faith.

What if you discovered today that the very thing you thought was dead, the dream you buried, the healing you stopped expecting, the door you stopped knocking on, is actually waiting for your voice? That is not wishful thinking. That is a scriptural reality backed by the life of Jesus Himself. Today, we are stepping into one of the most empowering truths a believer can hold onto: your prayer has already been heard, your answer has already been given, and your Lazarus is simply waiting for you to call it out.

Starting Your Prayer With Thanksgiving

Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He did something that should completely reshape how you and I approach prayer. He did not plead. He did not beg. He did not speak as someone unsure of whether God was listening. Instead, He looked up and began with thanksgiving.

"So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, 'Father, thank you for hearing me.'" John 11:41

And then He continued:

"You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me." John 11:42

Jesus began His prayer not with a request, but with a declaration of certainty. "Father, thank You that You heard me." He was not performing a religious ritual. He was operating from a place of deep, unshakeable connection with the Father. He already knew that God was with Him, that every word He spoke aligned with the will of heaven, and that the answer was already in motion.

When you pray with thanksgiving, you are agreeing with what God has already done.

When was the last time you began your prayer like that? Not "Lord, please hear me," but "Father, thank You that You already heard me." This is the shift that Daniel 9 confirmed and that Jesus demonstrated. As soon as you begin to pray, God has given His answer. Your starting point in prayer is not uncertainty. Your starting point is gratitude.

You Are Not Praying Alone

One of the most important things to settle in your heart today is that you are not praying in isolation. You are connected to the whole Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus knew this, and it is what gave His prayers such authority.

The Scripture in John 11 reveals that Jesus was not even trying to convince God of anything. He was simply declaring out loud, for the sake of those around Him, what He already knew to be true in His spirit. He was walking in complete unity with the Father, so complete that the words He spoke carried creative power.

"Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." Jeremiah 33:3

This verse does not say "Call to me and I might answer." It says "I will answer." When God declares something, it is settled. Your prayer cannot return void. You are connected to the kingdom of light. You are united with the living God. Whatever you speak in faith and alignment with His word will happen.

The Battle Behind the Scenes Does Not Cancel Your Answer

Sometimes, between the moment your prayer is answered in heaven and the moment you see it manifest on earth, there is a battle happening behind the scenes. This is what we see in Daniel's experience. The angel was dispatched immediately, but there was warfare in the spiritual realm. Yet none of that changed the fact that God had already answered.

"At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, for you are greatly loved." Daniel 9:23

This is crucial. Just because you cannot see the answer yet does not mean it has not been given. Just because there appears to be a delay does not mean God has been silent. The answer went out the moment you began to pray. The battle in the background is real, but it is not stronger than the command that left the throne of God on your behalf.

Do not let the silence of the in-between season convince you that heaven is not moving. It is moving. The angels are working. The shift is happening. It is guaranteed.

Spiritual warfare behind the scenes never cancels the answer God already gave.

Command Your Lazarus to Come Out

Now comes the most powerful application of everything we have been exploring. Jesus did not just thank the Father and walk away. After establishing His connection and certainty, He called out with authority.

Lazarus, come out.

And what had been dead for four days came back to life. The tomb could not hold what God had already decided to release. And this morning, the same is true for you. Whatever you have buried, whatever you have stopped believing for, whatever dream you told yourself was too far gone, too long dead, too impossible to come back, it is waiting for your voice.

You carry the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. You are the temple of the living God. You are not a helpless bystander. You are a believer with authority, and you are called to command.

Command your health to come alive. Command your finances to shift. Command that business idea to breathe again. Command restoration over your family. Call those things that seem dead and watch them respond to the word of God spoken through your lips in faith.

Your dreams are not gone. They are waiting for you to call them out.

Conclusion

You are entering a new season today. This is not the season of burying your faith under the weight of what you can see. This is the season of bold, thankful, authoritative prayer. Begin today by thanking God that He already heard you. Stand firm in the certainty that your answer is in motion, even if you cannot see it yet. And then open your mouth and call out your Lazarus. Everything you thought was finished is simply waiting to hear your voice. The shift is happening. The change is coming swiftly. Go in peace, knowing that your prayer has been answered and your breakthrough is on its way.

Reflect on This

  1. Is there a dream, a promise, or a prayer request that you have stopped believing for because it seemed too long unanswered, and how does today's truth challenge you to revisit it?

  2. What would it look like for you to begin your prayers with thanksgiving, confidently declaring that God has already heard and answered, rather than appealing as if He might not?

Prayer

Father, I thank You that You always hear me. I stand in agreement with Your word and declare that every prayer I have spoken has already been received in heaven. I choose to walk in the same certainty that Jesus walked in, knowing I am connected to You and nothing I lift up in faith returns empty. Right now, I command every dream, every promise, and every blessing that has been dormant to come alive. I declare restoration over my health, my family, my finances, and my future. The shift is happening swiftly, and I receive it by faith today. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Key Takeaways

  • God hears and answers your prayer at the very moment you begin, so start every prayer from a place of thanksgiving rather than uncertainty.

  • You are deeply connected to the Trinity, which means your prayers carry divine authority and cannot return void.

  • A spiritual battle happening behind the scenes is never evidence that God has not answered; the answer was already released when you first prayed.

  • You carry the authority to call dead dreams, buried promises, and impossible situations back to life through the word spoken in faith.
