Two people hold hands silhouetted against a glowing sunset over the ocean, creating a romantic, serene scene.
You are one spirit with God, united and inseparable from His presence, power, and authority.

There is a truth so profound that once it truly settles in your heart, it will completely change the way you see yourself, your body, and the authority you carry. Most of us have heard the phrase "your body is a temple" so many times that it has lost its weight. But today, let it land differently. Let it land as the life-altering revelation it was always meant to be. Because when you understand what it truly means that your body is the sacred temple of the Holy Spirit, you will never again accept sickness, depression, or darkness as permanent residents in your life.

Have You Forgotten What You Are?

The Bible does not ask this question gently. It almost sounds like a challenge:

"Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary." 1 Corinthians 6:19 (TPT)

Have you forgotten? That is the question. Not "did you know?" but "have you forgotten?" This implies that this truth was already given to you. It has always been yours. But somewhere along the way, under the weight of life's difficulties, many believers have forgotten what they are carrying on the inside.

Your body is not just a physical shell you live in. It is the sacred, set-apart sanctuary where the Holy Spirit of the living God makes His home. When you walk into a room, God walks into that room. When you stand in a hospital, the anointing of God is present there. When you speak to someone who is broken, you carry the very essence of heaven with you. That is not an exaggeration. That is what the Word says.

The moment you remember what you are, you will stop accepting what does not belong in you.

If the river of God flows into the holy dwelling place, and you are that dwelling place, then how dare sickness claim a seat in your body? How dare depression take up residence in your mind? How dare anxiety, pain, sleeplessness, or any work of the enemy feel at home in the temple of the Most High God? They simply have no right to stay.

Bought at a Price Without Limit

Here is another dimension of this truth that will strengthen your foundation:

"For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." 1 Corinthians 6:20

Everything in this world has a price. A phone has a price. A house has a price. A car has a price. But you? You cannot be assigned a fixed value. The price paid for you was the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. There is no currency in the universe that can match that. You are God's expensive purchase, and that purchase was made with the highest price ever paid in history.

You were not bought cheaply. You were bought with the most valuable thing that ever existed.

And because you were bought at such an extraordinary price, your body is meant to bring glory to God. Think about this carefully. Sickness does not glorify God. Depression does not glorify God. A life crushed by anxiety and shame does not bring honor to His name. So you have every scriptural right to look at sickness and say: "You are not bringing glory to God. You have no business here. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and it will reflect the image of the One who lives inside it."

You Are Not Alone. You Are One with Him.

Sometimes when life is hard, the enemy whispers that God is far away. But the truth is the complete opposite. You are not a separate being trying to find your way to a distant God. You are united with Him in spirit.

"Do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, the two will become one flesh." 1 Corinthians 6:16

This verse is the context for understanding the depth of your union with God. Just as two people in a physical union become one, you who are joined to the Lord have become one spirit with Him. Not two separate entities. One. United. Inseparable. Mingled together in a way that cannot be undone.

This means you do not walk alone. You do not face your battles alone. When you step into darkness, the light of God in you pushes the darkness back. You carry His kingdom wherever you go, a kingdom of healing, of peace, of joy, of freedom, of new beginnings. You represent something far greater than yourself.

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

You have been given authority in His name. Because you are one with God, the Word of God in your mouth carries weight. When you resist the enemy with the Word, he has to flee. Not because of your personal strength, but because of whose temple you are and who lives inside you.

You do not need to beg for authority. You already carry it because of who lives in you.

So today, speak this over yourself. Declare it as a reality, not a wish. My body belongs to God. My mind belongs to God. Every cell, every organ, every thought has to reflect the glory of the One who purchased me. Anything that is against that, anything that does not align with the kingdom of God, I reject it and command it to leave in Jesus name. You are filled with the Holy Spirit. You are anointed. You are the dwelling place of the Most High. Walk in that truth today.

Conclusion

speak this over yourself.

Reflect on This

  1. If your body truly is the temple of the Holy Spirit, what specific thoughts, habits, or beliefs have you been allowing to remain that do not belong in God's temple?

  2. How does understanding that you were bought at an infinite price change the way you speak about yourself and your body?

Prayer

Father, I thank You that I have been bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. I declare today that my body is the sacred temple of the Holy Spirit, and I will not allow sickness, depression, anxiety, or any work of the enemy to remain in what belongs to You. I am one spirit with You, and I carry Your kingdom wherever I go. Every cell in my body, every thought in my mind, let it glorify You. I resist every negative force in my life, and I declare it must flee. I walk in the authority You have given me, not by my own strength but by the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
