You Don't Have to Die to Enter Glory

September 27, 2026

There is something powerful waiting for you today, and it has nothing to do with what you have achieved or how perfectly you have lived. It is a truth that many people have never fully grasped, and once you see it, it will completely change the way you walk through your days. God has already given you His glory. Not someday. Not after you die. Right now, while you are alive and breathing, the glory of God has been placed upon your life.
Samson's Secret and What It Reveals
To understand this truth, let's look at a story from the book of Judges. Samson, one of the most powerful figures in the Old Testament, carried a secret. His strength was bound to his identity as a Nazirite, someone set apart for God from birth. When Delilah pressed him day after day, he finally revealed the source of his supernatural strength.
"When she pressured him day after day with her words and pleaded with him, he was annoyed to death. Then finally, he told her everything that was in his heart and said to her, 'A razor has never been used on my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will leave me, and I will become weak and be like any other man.'" Judges 16:16-17
His hair represented his glory, his identity, and his strength. When he gave it away to Delilah, he surrendered the very thing that set him apart. But here is the astonishing parallel: just as Samson gave his glory, Jesus willingly gave His glory at the cross. He was betrayed, rejected, and crucified, and through that sacrifice, He transferred His glory to every one of us.
Hair as a Symbol of Glory
You might wonder, what does hair have to do with glory? The Scripture gives us a direct connection.
"But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering." 1 Corinthians 11:15
Hair in Scripture represents glory and covering. Samson's uncut hair was the outward sign of the divine glory resting on his life. When he surrendered it, he lost his strength. But what Jesus did on the cross was the opposite. Instead of losing something, He gave something away on purpose, for you and for me. He poured out His glory so that we could be clothed in it.
Jesus did not lose His glory on the cross. He transferred it to you.
From Glory to Glory, Starting Now
This is where the revelation becomes breathtaking. The apostle Paul wrote about what this transfer of glory means for your everyday life.
"And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into his image from one degree of glory to even more glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18
Did you catch that? You are not moving toward glory. You are moving from glory to glory. There is a world of difference between those two directions. Moving toward glory means you are still waiting, still striving, still falling short. Moving from glory to glory means you are already standing in it, and you are simply advancing deeper into what is already yours.
This means your life is designed by God to go from success to success, from healing to healing, from strength to strength, from blessing to blessing, from favor to favor, from provision to provision, from honor to honor. That is the pattern of your life in Christ. That is the trajectory God has set for you.
Jesus Prayed This Over You
If you still feel uncertain about whether this glory truly belongs to you, listen to what Jesus Himself said in prayer to the Father.
"I have given to them the glory and honor which you have given me, that they may be one, just as we are one. I in them and you in me, that they may be perfected and completed into one, so that the world may know without any doubt that you sent me and that you have loved them just as you have loved me." John 17:22-23
Jesus said it plainly: "I have given to them the glory you gave me." He did not say He was going to give it. He said He has given it. It is already done. It is a completed act. And notice what this glory is meant to produce: unity with God, oneness with the Father and the Son, a relationship so close that the world around you will look at your life and recognize that God is real.
You are not trying to get into God's family. You are already in it.
You are not on the outside looking in. You are woven into the very community of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You have been welcomed into perfect unity with the triune God. And God the Father loves you with the exact same passionate love that He has for Jesus. The same love. Not a lesser version. Not a distant affection. The same passionate, relentless, choosing love that the Father has for His Son is the love He has for you.
Conclusion
Here is the truth that changes everything: you do not have to wait until you leave this earth to experience the glory of God. Religion may have told you that glory is something reserved for heaven, something you enter only after death. But Jesus died precisely so that you could receive that glory while you are living, breathing, and walking on this earth today. He has already made the transfer. The glory has been given. The question is simply whether you will walk in the revelation of what is already yours. Rise up today knowing that you are predestined, called, and glorified in Christ. Your life is not heading toward glory. It is flowing from it.
Reflect on This
Have you been living as though the glory of God is something you must earn or wait for, rather than something already given to you through Jesus Christ?
How would your daily life, your decisions, your confidence, and your relationships change if you truly believed that God loves you with the same passionate love He has for Jesus?
Prayer
Father, I thank You that through Jesus Christ, Your glory has already been given to me. I receive that truth today. I declare that I am predestined, called, justified, and glorified in You. Your glory streams from my life, my family, and everything I touch. I walk today not toward glory but from glory to glory, from strength to strength, from blessing to blessing. I am one with You, loved with the same love You have for Jesus, and I step into that reality fully today. In Jesus Name, Amen
Key Takeaways
Through Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross, God's glory has already been transferred to every believer as a completed gift.
The Christian life is designed to move from glory to glory, not toward it, meaning you already stand in God's glory and advance deeper into it.
God the Father loves every believer with the exact same passionate love that He has for Jesus, without any difference or distance.
You do not have to die to enter God's glory because Jesus died so that you could live in that glory right now on this earth.
