Today, let's explore the profound truth of our unbroken fellowship with God through Christ. This meditation will guide you through understanding your true position in Christ and the reality of living in continuous connection with the Trinity.
The Love That Calms All Fears
Our journey begins in the book of Zephaniah, where we discover God's heart toward us:
"Cheer up, Zion! Don't be afraid! For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will delight in you with gladness. With his love he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs." Zephaniah 3:16-17
This beautiful passage reveals that God's love has the power to calm all our fears. When we truly understand His love, we can overcome fear and live in the confidence of His presence. He is not distant but living among us as our mighty savior who delights in us.
Jesus Became Like Us
To fully grasp our unbroken fellowship with God, we must understand why Jesus became human. Hebrews explains this profound mystery:
"Since therefore these his children share in flesh and blood, in the physical nature of human beings, he himself in a similar manner partook of the same nature that by going through death he might bring to nothing and make of no effect him who had the power of death, that is the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery." Hebrews 2:14-15
Through His death, Jesus destroyed the one who had the power of death. Now death has no power in your life. Nothing broken, nothing missing, nothing lacking in Jesus' name.
Jesus came to deliver everyone who was subject to lifelong slavery. This is beautifully illustrated in the story of Moses and the Israelites. The Israelites were enslaved in Egypt for 430 years. Multiple generations were born, lived, and died in slavery. Moses, though raised in Pharaoh's palace, became one among them when he went to redeem them. He represented them as an Israelite to bring about their freedom.
In the same way, Jesus came and became one among us. He defeated the enemy who had the power of death by His own death, so that we could come out from lifelong slavery. We no longer live under bondage. Now we have lifelong success, lifelong goodness, and lifelong connection with God.
"For as we all know, he Christ did not take hold of Angels, the fallen angels, to give them a helping and delivering hand, but he did take hold of the fallen descendants of Abraham to reach out to them a helping and delivering hand." Hebrews 2:16
Jesus became fully human so that we could be restored to our rightful position as children of God. He entered our darkness, our brokenness, and our lostness to bring us back to light, wholeness, and relationship with the Father.
Light in Our Darkness
Jesus declared His mission clearly:
"I have come into the world as a light so no one who believes in me should stay in darkness." - John 12:46
We were not meant to remain in darkness. Christ came to bring us into His marvelous light. Unlike what some religious perspectives suggest, God wasn't angry with humanity after the Fall. From the very beginning, He was providing a solution.
It's important to understand that God didn't leave us; we left God. In the parables of Luke 15, who was lost? The sheep wandered from the shepherd. The coin fell from its place. The son left the father. We were the ones who chose separation, but God never stopped seeking us.
Conclusion
The beautiful truth is that Jesus entered our darkness, our death state, and our lostness to rescue us. He didn't leave us where we were but brought us back to where we belong - in relationship with Him.
Today, recognize that you are not lost, broken, or separated from God. Through Christ, you have been found, made whole, and brought near. You are loved with an everlasting love that casts out all fear.
Reflect on This
How does understanding that God didn't leave you, but you left God, change your perspective on your relationship with Him?
In what areas of your life do you need to step out of darkness and into the light that Christ has provided?
Prayer
Father, I thank You that You sent Jesus to find me when I was lost. Thank You that He entered my darkness to bring me into Your marvelous light. I recognize that You never left me; I wandered away from You. But through Christ, I have been brought back into relationship with You. Help me to walk in this light daily, knowing that Your love casts out all fear. In Jesus' name, Amen.
