The Stone Moved. Now Everything Changes

There is a thought some people carry into the new day like a heavy coat. They whisper it quietly, sometimes without even realising it: "My life feels like it dies again and again." Maybe that is you today. Maybe you have watched dreams collapse, watched your body weaken, watched a situation remain lifeless no matter how long you have waited. But I want you to hear something this morning that will shift everything. You only died once. It happened on Good Friday, when you were buried with Christ in baptism. But that is where death ends for you. Because He rose, you rose. And everything that is supposed to be dead in you has already been dealt with.
The Spirit Who Brings What Is Dead Back to Life
Look at what Ezekiel 37:14 declares:
"I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord." Ezekiel 37:14
Did you catch that? God says, "I will put My Spirit in you and you will live." Not you will try to live. Not you might live if conditions are right. You will live. Your family will live. The things that have been dead for years, the promises that looked buried, the situations that had no pulse, this is the morning they begin to breathe again. Because the living God dwells inside you, everything around you is subject to that same life.
What God says, He does. What He does, He says.
The Stone That Could Not Stay
When they buried Jesus, they did not just lay Him in a tomb. They rolled a great stone against the entrance. Then they sealed it with a government stamp and stationed soldiers outside. Every obstacle you could imagine was stacked against His resurrection. But on the third day, that stone was overturned. Those seals were broken.
Whatever stone has been rolled in front of your breakthrough, whatever seal has been pressed against your promise, understand this: the same Jesus who walked out of that sealed tomb on the third day is working on your situation right now. Your obstacles are not final. They are just stones. And your God knows how to move them.
You Are Joined to the Right Person
Romans 6:4 makes this truth clear:
"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." Romans 6:4
You are not connected to your debts. You are not connected to your problems. You are not connected to the curse, or to sin, or to the failures of the generations before you. You are connected to the God who raises the dead. Some people will look at your family name and say there is no future there, because of what your parents did or what your background looks like. But I need you to know today that you have been joined to a new family. The Creator of heaven and earth is your Father. And no one can separate you from Him.
Paul wrote in Romans 8:35:
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?" Romans 8:35
The answer is no one. Not sickness. Not a broken past. Not a generational curse. When you meditate on that connection, when you truly understand who you are joined to, even the cancer in your body begins to lose its hold. Because the attachment you carry is stronger than anything working against you.
You were not born to just barely survive. You were born to win.
Dead Bones Coming Back to Life
Maybe things have been dead for a long time. Maybe it has not been a few days but many years. The vision looked dead. The marriage looked finished. The body looked beyond repair. But hear this: it does not matter how long something has been dead. God specialises in raising exactly those kinds of things. Ezekiel saw a valley full of dry bones, and God asked him, "Can these bones live?" And then He breathed life into every one of them. This morning, He is breathing that same life into your situation.
Conclusion
You are not a person who is dying over and over. You died once, with Christ, and that death is finished. Now you are someone who has been raised with the risen Lord. That is your identity. That is your position. You did not come to this day as someone defeated. You came as someone who has been permanently connected to the life of the Risen Jesus. Let that truth settle into you. Let it change the way you sit, the way you walk, and the way you expect things to unfold. The Spirit of the living God is inside you, and everything He touches lives.
Reflect on This
In what area of your life have you been carrying the weight of death, when the truth is that you have already been raised with Christ and are connected to the life of God?
Romans 6:4 says you are joined to the resurrection, not to sin or failure. How would your daily choices and your expectations change if you truly lived from that identity?
Prayer
Father, I thank You that I did not come to this day as someone who is slowly dying. I declare that Your Spirit is inside me and I am alive. I am connected to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, not to my failures, not to the curse, not to my past. Every dead thing in my life is breathing again because You are the God who raises what is dead. Your word over me will not return void. What You have spoken, You will do. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Key Takeaways
You died with Christ once, on Good Friday, and that is the last death you will ever face from this point on, you are joined to resurrection life.
The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now lives inside you, making everything in your life subject to divine life.
No stone, seal, or obstacle placed against your promise can stand when the risen Christ is working on your behalf.
Your connection is not to your debts, your past, or your family's failures, you have been joined to the Creator of heaven and earth as His own child.
What God speaks over you, He will perform and His word over you is life, not death.
