The Secret That Changes How You Walk Through Life

There is a question worth sitting with today. Do you know who is living inside of you? Not in a vague, theoretical sense, but truly, deeply know it? Because the moment you grasp the answer, the way you walk into a room, the way you face a problem, and the way you see your future will never be the same again.
Bought at a Price, Filled with a Presence
In 1 Corinthians 6:20, the apostle Paul lays out a remarkable truth about why you carry what you carry.
"You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." 1 Corinthians 6:20
What Jesus did on the cross was not just a transaction for forgiveness. It was the purchase of reunion. When He gave His life, He bought back the connection between God and humanity. The result is that the Spirit of God now lives within every believer. You did not earn this. You did not work for it. Jesus paid for it with His blood, and the moment you believed, that payment was credited to your account.
This is the gospel in its simplest, most profound form:
The Son of God became the Son of Man so that the son of man could become the Son of God.
You Are in a Better Position
Think back to the woman in Mark 5 for a moment. Her faith was extraordinary. She pressed through a crowd in her weakness, in her shame, in her desperation, just to touch the edge of Jesus' outer garment. And she was healed. That story is a stunning lesson in faith.
But here is what must not be missed: you are in a better position than she was. She had to come to Jesus from the outside. She had to reach through a crowd. You, as a believer, do not have that problem.
I am in a better position. I have a better Covenant.
Because Jesus lives inside you, the same healing power that flowed from His garment to that woman now flows from within you. As 1 John 4:17 declares, you are as He is in this world.
"In this world we are like Jesus." 1 John 4:17
This means that when you walk into a marketplace, a school corridor, or a workplace, you are not arriving empty-handed. You are carrying the presence of the living God.
Chosen Before Time Even Began
Ephesians 1 opens a window into something that will reshape the way you think about yourself. Your standing before God did not begin at your conversion. It began before the world was created.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight." Ephesians 1:3-4
You were chosen before the foundation of the world. Not after you proved yourself. Not after you cleaned up your act. Before anything existed, God already had you in mind. And Ephesians 1:5 goes further, saying
"He predestined you to be adopted as His own through Jesus Christ." Ephesians 1:5
This is not the kind of adoption where a family takes in a child who does not belong to them. It is a restoration. Adam was created in the image and likeness of God. When sin entered, that image was fractured and the rights of sonship were lost. But when Jesus came, He reversed all of that. Through Him, you are no longer living in the kingdom of darkness. You have been transferred into the kingdom of light, and you are once again the son or daughter of God.
You Were Made to Conquer
Knowing who you are is not just for your personal peace. It is for a purpose that extends far beyond you.
"The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to mankind." Psalm 115:16
This earth was given to us. That means the believer is not meant to be a passenger in culture. You are meant to be at the forefront of it. In education, in business, in politics, in every sphere of society, the children of God are meant to lead, not lag behind. The enemy has deceived many into believing that faith is something private, something small, something that shrinks back from the world. But the call of Scripture is the opposite. You are called to bring the kingdom of God into every place you enter.
When you walk into your school, you are not just walking in as a student. You are walking in as someone called to bring light. When you enter your workplace, you are not just there for a paycheck. You are there as a representative of the King.
Repentance, as the original Greek word metanoia reminds us, means to change the way you think. And that is the invitation today. Change how you see yourself. Stop seeing yourself as the ordinary person who hopes things go well. Begin seeing yourself as the child of God who has been sent to make things well.
Reflect on This
In what areas of your life, whether at work, at school, or in your family, have you been living below the identity of a child of God who is called to conquer and not just cope?
How does knowing you were chosen before the foundation of the world change the way you approach challenges and new beginnings?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You that I was chosen before the foundation of the world and bought with the precious blood of Jesus. I declare that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in me. I walk into every place knowing I carry Your presence. I am not a passenger in this world. I am Your child, sent to bring Your kingdom. I change my thinking today and I embrace who You say I am. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Key Takeaways
Jesus paid for your union with God through His blood on the cross; you are now a carrier of His presence.
You are in a better covenant than even the woman with the issue of blood, because Jesus lives within you rather than outside of you.
God chose you before the foundation of the world to be holy, blameless, and adopted as His own.
The gospel in its essence is that the Son of God became Son of Man so that sons of men could become children of God.
You are called to conquer every sphere of society, education, business, politics, because this earth was given to God's people.
