A glowing cross atop a rocky hill, surrounded by dark clouds and illuminated by heavenly light beams, creates a dramatic, serene atmosphere.
At the cross, your curse, sickness, poverty, and sin were finished forever.

Today, let's explore a powerful truth: some things end at the cross, while others begin at the resurrection. Understanding what finished and what started fresh will transform how you see your identity in Christ and the victory you carry every single day.

What Ended at the Cross

When Jesus hung on the cross, He declared something profound: "It is finished." This wasn't just about His earthly life coming to an end. It was a declaration that certain things were being terminated forever.

"When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, 'It is finished!' And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit." - John 19:30

At that moment, your curse ended. Your sickness ended. Your disease ended. Your poverty ended. Your sin ended. The dominion of darkness that once ruled over you came to a complete stop. The cross wasn't just a place of death; it was a place where everything working against you was put to death. The enemy's plans, the generational patterns, the limitations that tried to define you were all finished at Calvary.

The Power of Divine Blood

There's something extraordinary flowing through you right now. It's not ordinary blood; it's divine blood. When doctors look at hereditary conditions and say, "This ran in your family, so it will come to you," you can respond differently. Your heavenly Father has no sickness, no curse, no destructive patterns. His divine blood flows through you.

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." - 1 Corinthians 1:18

The message of the cross might seem like foolishness to those who don't believe, but to you, what seems foolish to them becomes your healing. What they mock becomes your medicine. When you hear about Christ dying for you, rising for you, and living to give you abundant life, something stirs within you. That's divine power activating in your spirit.

Two Outcomes, One Cross

The cross produces two completely different results depending on where you stand. For the enemy, it brings death. For you, the believer, it brings life. For your adversary, it brings defeat. For you, it brings victory. For your opponent, it brings shame. For you, it brings joy. For the enemy, it brings harm. For you, it brings blessing.

Think about the Passover in Exodus. When the blood was applied to the doorposts, the destroying angel passed over the homes of the Israelites. That same night brought death to Egypt but deliverance to God's people.

"The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt." - Exodus 12:13

When destruction looks for you, it will pass over. When sickness searches for you, it will pass over. When poverty tries to locate you, it will pass over. Why? Because you carry the mark of Jesus' blood.

From Slavery to Abundance

For over 400 years, the Israelites lived in slavery with no wages, no freedom, and no hope. But in one night, everything changed. When the blood was applied, not only were they set free, but they also left Egypt with silver, gold, and clothing.

"The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing. The Lord had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians." - Exodus 12:35-36

What you ask for will be given to you. The poorest among them became wealthy overnight. The weakest among them became strong.

"He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold, and from among their tribes no one faltered." - Psalm 105:37

Not one person was weak or sick among them. That's the power of the blood working on your behalf.

The Enemy Defeated, You Victorious

The same Red Sea that drowned Pharaoh's army became a pathway for God's people. Your enemies will drown in the very place where you walk through victoriously.

"Pharaoh's chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh's officers are drowned in the Red Sea." - Exodus 15:4

What brings destruction to your enemy brings deliverance to you. The chariots and armies rising against you and your family will be swallowed up. They will be put to shame while you walk in triumph.

Your Bones Will Flourish

Here's a beautiful promise for you,

"You will see this, and your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the Lord will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes." - Isaiah 66:14

Your bones will flourish like green grass. Every part of your body, every organ, every system will thrive. The Lord's hand is upon you for blessing, while His anger is directed toward anything that opposes you.

Enmity Destroyed

The cross didn't just save you; it destroyed the enmity between you and God, and it destroyed every enemy working against you.

"His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility." - Ephesians 2:15-16

The hostility, the sickness, the curses, the traps set against you were all killed at the cross. Death for the enemy, life for you.

Christ Came to Destroy Death

Jesus didn't come just to teach or to set an example. He came to destroy the one who holds the power of death.

"Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death, that is, the devil." - Hebrews 2:14

He died so you could live. He took your place so you could take His place. You don't have to die in defeat. You will live and declare the works of the Lord.

Conclusion

Today embrace the finished work of the cross. Your curse is finished. Your sickness is finished. Your poverty is finished. But your victory has just begun. Your healing has just begun. Your abundance has just begun. Walk in the reality that what ended at Calvary can never touch you again, and what began at the resurrection is yours to enjoy forever.

Reflect on This

  1. What areas of your life still feel bound by the "old" that Jesus already finished at the cross?

  2. How can you actively walk in the "new" that began at the resurrection in your daily life?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You that at the cross, every curse, every sickness, every limitation was finished. I declare that my poverty is finished, my bondage is finished, and every work of the enemy against me is finished. I receive the new life that began at the resurrection. Divine blood flows through me. I am favored, I am blessed, I am victorious. I flourish like green grass. My bones are strong, my body is healthy, and my spirit is alive in Christ. The enemy's plans against me are destroyed, and I walk in complete victory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
