Stop Living Like a Chicken, You Are an Eagle

There is something on the inside of you that was never meant to stay on the ground. You were not designed to scratch in the dirt, think small thoughts, and live beneath what God has called you to. Today's message is a wake-up call to your true identity. It is time to shake off everything that has been holding you down and rise into who God created you to be.
Shake Yourself from the Dust
In Isaiah 52, God gives a very direct and personal command.
"Shake yourself from the dust and arise; be seated, O Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion." Isaiah 52:2
Shake yourself from the dust. That phrase carries so much weight. Dust, in this context, represents the patterns, the thinking, and the mindsets that connect you to a worldly, defeated way of living. When you think like the world thinks, when you react the way the world reacts, when you speak the language of fear and defeat, you are living in the dust. And God is saying, rise up from it.
You were not born to scratch in the dust. You were born to soar above the clouds.
You know, there is a well-known picture of an eagle that was raised among chickens. Because it never saw another eagle, it lived like a chicken. It ate like a chicken, walked like a chicken, and thought like a chicken. It had the wingspan to soar over mountains, but it was pecking at the ground. And that is exactly what happens when we do not know who we are in God. We live beneath our identity. We accept limitations that were never meant for us.
But the moment an eagle sees another eagle soaring high in the sky, everything changes. And that is exactly what Jesus did when He came to earth. He came in human form, in a body of flesh, as a man among people, so that you could see what it looks like to walk in divine identity. Now there is no reason to remain in the dust. You have seen the real eagle. You have seen Jesus. You cannot live like a chicken anymore.
Do Not Conform, Be Transformed
The Apostle Paul puts it plainly.
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:1-2
Do not think like the world. Do not speak like the world. Do not react like the world. You do not belong to this world. Even though you are physically present in this world, you are not of it. Think about someone living in a foreign country. They live there, they function there, but their passport belongs to another nation. The rules and identity of their home country still apply to them. You have a heavenly passport. Your citizenship is in heaven. The laws of heaven, the promises of God, and the identity of a child of the King apply to you right now, in every situation.
"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." Philippians 3:20
You cannot carry anxiety and heavenly citizenship at the same time. You cannot remain in sorrow when you know your seat is with Christ. Which brings us to one of the most powerful positional truths in Scripture.
"And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:6
You are not seated in a sickbed. You are not seated in defeat. Right now, your spiritual position is seated with Christ in the heavenly realms. That is not a future promise. That is your present reality. That is your position.
Loose the Bonds from Your Neck
God is not just calling you to rise. He is also telling you to loose the bonds from your neck. And here is the striking thing: He does not say He will do it for you. He says you have to do it. In the name of Jesus, you have to remove those chains. The unforgiveness, the bitterness, the wrong thinking, the agreement with past failures, take those off. Your past does not determine your future. The promise of God determines your future.
Your past has no authority over a future that God has already spoken into existence.
Change the way you think. Forgive people. Let go of the mindsets that have been strangling the life out of your faith. You are a captive daughter of Zion, and the invitation is to come out. Come out of the captivity that exists in your mind. Come out of the limited thinking. Come out of agreement with everything the enemy has whispered over your identity.
Soar Like an Eagle
God has a word for those who are weary, for those who have been running and feel like they have nothing left.
"Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:30-31
Even the strongest will eventually run dry in their own strength. But those who wait on the Lord, those who place their trust and dependency in God, will receive renewed strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. When the storm comes, an eagle does not hide from it. An eagle uses the wind of the storm to lift itself higher. And that is who you are. When the storm of life comes, you are built to rise above it, not be crushed by it.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5
Before you were born, God knew you. Before you took your first breath, He appointed you. He set you aside for purpose. You were not an accident. You were not a mistake. You were set up for something great. The days of rejection are gone. The days of God's action in your life have begun. You are the chosen generation. You are not set up for failure. You are set up for His glory.
Nothing can stop the will of God in your life when you know who you are in Him.
Conclusion
Today, shake off the dust of wrong identity. Loose the bonds of limited thinking from your neck. Step into your position, seated in heavenly places with Christ. You are not ordinary. You are filled with the Holy Spirit, called for a purpose bigger than yourself, and anointed to bring light wherever you go. The enemy has to go backward. Nothing can stop you. Rise up like the eagle you were always meant to be, and watch the glory of God manifest in every area of your life.

Prayer
Father, I thank You that I am not of this world and I refuse to be conformed to its patterns. I shake off every dusty mindset, every lie of rejection, and every chain of limited thinking right now in the name of Jesus. I declare that I am seated with Christ in heavenly places and my citizenship is in heaven. I receive renewed strength as I wait on You. I will mount up with wings like eagles, run without weariness, and walk without fainting. You appointed me before I was born, and nothing can stop the purpose You have placed in me. I soar today for Your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen.
