There is something powerful stirring inside you today. Not outside of you, not in some distant holy land, not in a bottle of water someone traveled miles to obtain. Right inside you, there is a river. And when you open your mouth and declare the Word of God, that river begins to flow, and things begin to change.
This is the heart of what we are stepping into today, a truth so life-giving that once you grasp it, you will never look at your words the same way again.
The River Tigris and the Sudden Shift
In the book of Daniel, we find a powerful moment that sets the stage for everything we are about to explore.
"On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river (that is, the Tigris)." Daniel 10:4
Daniel was standing on the bank of the great River Tigris, and it was right there that heaven opened up to him. He received a vision so overwhelming, so glorious, that his strength left him and he fell facedown to the ground. This was not just a geographical river. This river carries a spiritual significance for every believer today.
The River Tigris represents a sudden, rapid shift. It is not a slow trickle of change. It is a swift current that carries transformation into every area of your life. And here is the beautiful truth: you do not need to travel to the Middle East to find it. You do not need to buy holy water from some distant land. This river flows inside you, and it is activated the moment you begin to declare the Word of God.
The River Tigris is not out there somewhere. It is already flowing inside you.
When you come to God with a heart of thanksgiving, not grumbling based on your circumstances, not leaning on your own experience, but standing firmly on what His Word says, this river moves. And when it moves, things change.
Visions, Dreams, and the Promise of the Last Days
When Daniel stood by that river and declared, the vision came. He looked up and saw a man clothed in linen, with a belt of pure gold, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his voice like the sound of a great multitude. He was seeing a vision of Jesus, glorious and thunderous.
And the Bible tells us that this kind of supernatural experience is not reserved for Daniel alone. It is a promise given to every believer.
"And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." Acts 2:17
So many people, when they hear about the last days, immediately think of earthquakes, destruction, and chaos. But the church has often overlooked one of the most extraordinary things the Bible says will happen in the last days: God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh. Not just on a few chosen prophets. Not just in one nation. On all flesh.
The last days are not just about destruction. They are about an outpouring that will sweep the earth like wildfire.
This is a prophecy that is being fulfilled right now. Revival is spreading. Young men and women are prophesying. People are seeing dreams and visions. And as you declare the Word of God, as you speak in tongues, as you enter into genuine thanksgiving, you become part of this great outpouring. Your eyes begin to open. You begin to see what God is doing around you and ahead of you.
When You Declare, Heaven Listens
Notice something significant in Daniel's vision. The men who were with Daniel could not see the vision, but a great trembling fell on them and they fled and hid. Only Daniel, the one who was standing in the Word, the one who had been fasting and praying and declaring, received the vision.
Not everyone will see what you see. Not everyone will understand the spiritual realm you are walking in. But when you choose to live by the Word, when you choose declaration over despair and proclamation over complaint, you step into a dimension that most people around you cannot access.
Some of you may have been troubled by bad dreams, anxious nights, and restless sleep. Receive this today: those bad dreams are broken in Jesus' name. As you release this river, you will sleep peacefully. You will dream well. You will wake with vision and clarity about the things God is calling you into.
Stand Up, You Are Greatly Loved
When Daniel fell facedown, overwhelmed by the vision, something tender happened. A hand reached out and touched him. And the voice said:
"O Daniel, man greatly loved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for now I have been sent to you." Daniel 10:11
Hear that same voice speaking to you right now. You are greatly loved. You are the beloved of God. Not because you have earned it or deserved it, but because that is who He says you are.
God does not leave you flat on the ground. He reaches down, He touches you, He lifts you up, and He sends His messengers to walk with you. The same river that brought Daniel a vision and an angelic visitation is flowing in you right now.
Conclusion
The River Tigris is a river of sudden change, divine vision, and supernatural encounter. It flows when you declare the Word of God, when you give thanks in the face of difficulty, when you choose His promises over your feelings. You do not need to search for this river anywhere else. It is already inside you, ready to move. As you speak His Word today, expect your eyes to open, expect shifts to come, and expect heaven to respond.

Dreams and visions flow to me because Your Spirit is poured out. I walk in the fullness of Your promises, not based on my feelings, but based on Your Word alone. In Jesus Name, Amen.
