Today, let's explore how God desires to be our ultimate source and provider. When we understand that our Heavenly Father is not just a rescuer from problems but the one who lifts us to higher levels, we begin to walk in the abundant blessings He has prepared for us.
The God of All Provision
In Genesis 49, we discover a beautiful promise about God's nature as our provider:
"By the God of your father who will help you, by the Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breast and of the womb." - Genesis 49:25
This verse reveals three dimensions of God's provision. He is our helper, our protector, and our comforter. The blessings of heaven above show us that we have open heavens before us. The whole Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - is working for us, not against us. Every curse, every sickness, everything the enemy brings against us, God will turn around for His glory.
Understanding True Source vs. Resources
There's a profound difference between our source and our resources. Your job is not your source. Your business is not your source. Your bank balance is not your source. Whatever you've saved up is not your source. God is your source.
God is our source. The source creates the resource, and the resource cannot be the source.
Think of a mighty river flowing from a mountain stream. The river that flows is the resource, but the source comes from the top of the mountain. In the same way, God is our source, and everything else flows from Him as resources.
The Blessing of Divine Nursing
The scripture speaks of "the blessings of the breast," which refers to how God nurses us like a mother nurses her baby. A baby doesn't know anything, but the mother knows when it's time to sleep, time to feed, and whether the baby has had enough. God will nurse you in the same way. He will be your supplier, ensuring there is no lacking, nothing missing, nothing broken.
The Blessing of Divine Growth
The passage also mentions "the blessing of the womb," speaking of fertility and growth. In the womb, a baby receives all necessary supplies without even knowing it, connected to the mother. Every nutrition, every supplement needed for development flows naturally. Wherever there is development you need, God will make fertile. Wherever there is promotion you need, God will make fertile. Wherever there is uplift you need, God will make fertile.
Greater Than Generational Blessings
Genesis 49 reveals something extraordinary:
"The blessings of your father have prevailed above the blessings of my ancestors, up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers." - Genesis 49:26
Your blessings will be greater than any you've seen in your generation. Abraham was blessed, Isaac was blessed more than Abraham, and Jacob was blessed more than Isaac. You will have blessings greater than anyone you've seen, overflowing like the everlasting hills.
From Labor to Favor
This is not the season of labor; it's the season of favor. You may have worked hard on everything, tried everything, and failed repeatedly. But today, as you listen to God's word, declare: "I'm not operating on labor anymore. I'm going to operate on favor. I want to operate on the blessings of heaven, the blessing of divine provision, the blessing of divine growth."
Joseph's Transformation Story
Consider Joseph's incredible journey. He was a slave, working under someone else. He was imprisoned, wrongly accused, living without hope in a seemingly hopeless situation. But God turned the table around and made him prime minister of Egypt, protector of the world, saving many people from famine. God lifted him up beyond imagination.
When Joseph had his dream, everything came against it. Even his brothers threw him into a pit because of his dream. When God gives you a promise, the enemy will try to steal, destroy, and kill it. But when you believe in your dream, when you believe the promise God has given and start imagining that promise, nothing can stop you.
Conclusion
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The same God who turned Joseph's situation around will turn things around for you, for your good and for His glory. You are covered by His grace, His might, and His holiness. You belong to Him, and nothing can stop you. No sickness can stop you, no disease can come near, because every curse has been taken away through the cross.
Reflect on This
In what areas of your life do you need to shift from seeing your circumstances as your source to recognizing God as your true source?
How can you begin to imagine and believe in the greater blessings God has prepared for you, even when current circumstances seem challenging?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are my source, my provider, and my sustainer. I declare that You are nursing me and supplying all my needs according to Your riches in glory. I receive the blessings of heaven above, the blessings of divine provision, and the blessings of supernatural growth. I am covered by Your grace and might, and I walk in favor, not labor. You are turning every situation around for my good and Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
