Seeding
Don't focus on your problems or wait for perfect conditions, plant seeds of faith regardless of circumstances.

Today, let's explore a powerful truth that can transform your perspective during difficult seasons. When circumstances seem bleak and people forget you, remember this: God never forgets. He remains with you through every trial, ready to change your season at the perfect moment.

The God Who Remembers

In Genesis, we find Joseph at a low point:

"Yet even after all that, the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot all about him." - Genesis 40:23

Despite his faithful service and accurate interpretation of dreams, Joseph was forgotten in prison. How many of us have felt similarly overlooked or forgotten?

Yet one constant remained in Joseph's life, God was with him. Throughout Joseph's story, this phrase repeats like a steady heartbeat: "God was with Joseph." While people forgot, God remembered.

The one thing that didn't change in Joseph's life was God's presence. His focus remained set upon God, knowing He was in control.

When we face difficult circumstances, we often fixate on our problems, the prison walls, the betrayals, the disappointments. We magnify our troubles and blame others for our situation. But Joseph shows us a different way.

Don't Watch the Wind

Ecclesiastes offers profound wisdom for challenging times:

"Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest." - Ecclesiastes 11:4 (NLT)

If you constantly focus on your current problems, magnifying difficulties and dwelling on past betrayals, you'll never move forward. Your future isn't determined by what you see but by God's Word. Those who make decisions based solely on bank accounts, qualifications, circumstances, or medical reports will never progress.

Joseph didn't fixate on his prison walls or the people who betrayed him. He wasn't blaming God or complaining about his conditions. Instead, he kept his eyes on God's promises.

The Season-Changer

We serve a God who changes times and seasons. declares:

"He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." - Daniel 2:21

Whatever season you're experiencing, waiting for promotion, seeking advancement in your ministry or career, or feeling stuck in debt, know that God can change your circumstances. Some may say, "It's a bad time for me," but there's no bad time for God's people because we serve the God who changes times and seasons!

Don't worry about how your situation appears. Instead, magnify God's Word. Sometimes transformation is a process, just as it was for Joseph and David. After Samuel anointed David as king, he didn't immediately enter the palace, he returned to tending sheep. Yet he knew God would fulfill His promise.

Plant in Every Season

Success isn't based on chance but on choice, your choice to believe God's Word. Right believing produces right living. In prison, countless questions must have filled Joseph's mind, but he focused on one truth: the God who promised would deliver.

Joseph didn't look at the wind or clouds. If he had focused on his problems, he would never have planted seeds of faith. God's Word is a seed that must be planted in your heart, not based on external circumstances but on trust in the process.

Proverbs warns:

"The lazy man does not plow when the winter planting season arrives, so he begs at the next harvest and has nothing to reap." - Proverbs 20:4

Some translations say, "Because of the cold, the sluggard would not plow." When you look at circumstances and make decisions based on them "It's too cold," "I'm in prison," "The doctor said...", you'll never plow.

Keep Dreaming

If Joseph had focused only on his prison cell, he would have seen nothing but darkness. Instead, he looked to God's promise, continually imagining what God would do and dreaming about God's promises.

When you're sick, keep dreaming about how you'll run for God. When you're weak, keep dreaming about God's strength.

Don't be like the lazy person who refuses to plow because of the cold. Don't blame the economy or world conditions. If you're too lazy to plow, don't expect a harvest. If you're too lazy to believe, don't expect results.

During his waiting period, Joseph trusted God's Word, knowing that God changes times and seasons. He didn't look around at his circumstances or dwell on betrayals. He focused on God's promises, dreaming about the vision God had given him and sowing seeds of faith.

Waiting Time Is Growing Time

Remember this: waiting time is not wasted time. It's a season where your faith grows as you learn to trust God when there seems to be nothing to believe for. Suddenly, the God who changes times and seasons appeared in Joseph's life and elevated him from prison to palace.

The Bible repeatedly emphasizes: "God was with Joseph." Even in your waiting period, even through your current situation, God is with you. He changes times and seasons, and He will do the same for you.

Conclusion

In your darkest moments, remember that God sees you. While Joseph was forgotten in prison, God was preparing him for the palace. Your current season isn't your final destination, it's preparation for what's ahead. Don't watch the wind or clouds; keep planting seeds of faith regardless of circumstances. The God who changes times and seasons is working in your waiting. Focus not on what you see, but on what He has promised. Your breakthrough may be just one season away. Trust His timing, keep dreaming, and know that with God, no waiting time is ever wasted.

Reflect on This

  1. What circumstances or problems are you focusing on that might be preventing you from planting seeds of faith?

  2. How can you shift your focus from your current situation to God's promises during your waiting season?

Prayer

Father, I thank You for being the God who remembers me even when others forget. I declare that You are with me, changing my times and seasons. I choose to focus not on my circumstances but on Your promises. I plant seeds of faith in my heart, trusting Your process. My waiting time is not wasted, it's growing my faith. I believe You are lifting me from prison to palace in Your perfect timing. You are my strength, my provider, and my season-changer. In Jesus' name, Amen.
