A person in a robe walks through a bustling crowd on a sunlit street. The focus is on the person's back, with soft earthy tones.
God's eyes are actively searching the earth for a wholehearted person through whom He can display His strength.

Have you ever wondered what God is doing right now? Many of us carry that quiet, aching question somewhere deep inside. You have prayed for so long. You have waited and watched, and still the answer seems far off. Maybe you have even asked, "Why does this keep happening to me?" You are not alone in that feeling. But today, there is a word for you. And it changes everything.

The Question That Started It All

What is God doing? It is not a faithless question. It is actually the right question to ask, because the answer is found right in Scripture. God is not distant, sitting somewhere beyond the clouds, occasionally glancing down. He is actively looking. His eyes are moving across the whole earth right now, searching for someone through whom He can show His strength.

"For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war." 2 Chronicles 16:9

That is not a small thing. That is an invitation.

God Cannot Work Alone

Here is a truth that may surprise you: God, in His wisdom, has chosen to work through people. He does not bypass you or override you. He partners with you. Think of it like this. Imagine a large water reservoir somewhere. There could be thousands of litres of water in that tank, but unless there is a working pipe connected to your home, none of that water reaches you. The pipe does not produce the water. It simply carries it. You are the pipe.

God works through the channel of His Word, and He works through a person who receives that Word. The power inside the pipe is proportional to how open the pipe is. The same principle applies in your life. When you receive His Word and act on it, His power flows through you.

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." Ephesians 4:20

Notice: not according to His unlimited power in the abstract, but according to the power that is at work in you. God has chosen to work through you.

God's Word Carries Everything

Everywhere you look in Scripture, God worked through His Word. Moses heard the Word and stood before the superpower of his age, Egypt, and set a people free. Joseph received the Word through a dream. Thirteen years of opposition, prison, and betrayal could not stop it. The Word always outlasts the resistance. Joshua received a Word and led twelve tribes into their inheritance. Paul spent three years in the wilderness receiving that Word, and half of the New Testament came out of it. Martin Luther received a single verse from the book of Romans, and the entire course of church history was changed.

None of them were famous before the Word came. They became who they were because they held onto that Word.

"But as it is written: 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.' But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit." 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

The verse does not end at "not seen, not heard." That is where most people stop quoting it. The very next verse says: but God has revealed them to us. You are not left outside the mystery. You are the one to whom God reveals His things.

Your Relationship with God Changes Everything

When you believe His Word and enter into that relationship, something shifts. The relationship produces transformation. God is always good. That never changes. But your perception of His goodness must become settled in your heart. Proverbs 23:7 says

"That as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. " Proverb 23:7

If you believe God is good only sometimes, or that He allows bad things as messages, or that He is working through illness or disaster to teach you, that thinking will block what God wants to pour into your life. He teaches through His Word. He is always, only, completely good.

Your relationship with God produces change. The Word of God, when trusted, is the channel through which He moves.

Elijah and the Courage to Speak

The story of Elijah in 1 Kings 17 opens with a man who had no famous background, no platform, no title. And yet he walked directly into the palace of the most wicked king in Israel's history and declared a word. Not a safe, encouraging word. A word that announced three years of drought.

What gave him that courage? It was not personality. It was a revelation of who God is. He knew that God is good. He knew that God had spoken. He knew that the opinion of God about this situation was the only opinion that mattered.

The righteous are bold as a lion Proverbs 28:1.

That boldness does not come from willpower. It comes from knowing whose you are and what He has said.

When you know who you are in Christ, you can stand before kings.

The Authority You Already Carry

Scripture is clear about this. When you receive Christ, God gives you authority. John 1:12 says

"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" John 1:12

He gave the right, the authority, to become children of God. Ephesians declares that the very same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in you.

"His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength" Ephesians 1:19

First John 4 reminds you that the One in you is greater than the one in the world.

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

You are not a helpless bystander. You are someone in whom God has placed His authority. The difference between a believer and an unbeliever is not just salvation. It is identity. When you truly understand who you are in Christ, something changes. You stop asking whether God can do it. You start walking in what He has already given.

Conclusion

God is not waiting for someone extraordinary. He is looking for someone willing. His eyes are moving across the whole earth right now, searching for a wholehearted person through whom He can make His power known. That person could be you, sitting exactly where you are, holding onto the Word He has given you.

You were not saved just to survive. You were saved to carry His Word, to stand in bold places, and to see His power flow through your ordinary life. The pipe does not have to be impressive. It just has to be connected.

Reflect on This

  1. In what areas of your life have you been waiting passively for God to act, when He may actually be calling you to take a step of obedience with the Word He has already given you?

  2. How does your daily understanding of who you are in Christ shape the confidence with which you face the challenges around you?

Prayer

Father, I thank You that Your eyes are searching the earth for someone wholehearted, and I present myself to You today. I receive Your Word as the channel through which You move. I believe that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in me. I am not ordinary without You, and with You I am not limited by what is natural. I will speak what You have said, go where You direct, and trust that what You have promised will come to pass. I consecrate my life and my obedience to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Key Takeaways

  • God has chosen to work through people, not around them; His power flows through those who receive and act on His Word.

  • Your relationship with God, built on trust in His Word, is what produces transformation in your circumstances.

  • The boldness to face difficult situations comes from truly knowing who you are in Christ and the authority He has given you.

  • Every biblical example of breakthrough begins with one person receiving a Word and choosing to obey it, regardless of the opposition.

  • God's eyes are actively searching the earth for a wholehearted person through whom He can display His strength.
