Today, let's explore one of the most transformative truths in Scripture: how God takes what the enemy meant for evil and turns it into something beautiful. This isn't just theology; it's the very foundation of our faith and the key to understanding our identity in Christ. Prepare to see yourself in a completely new light.
The Enemy's Original Plan
The story begins in Genesis , where Joseph declares a profound truth:
"As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today." - Genesis 50:20
This principle echoes throughout all of Scripture. The enemy schemes, plots, and executes his plans, but God has the final word. What looks like defeat becomes the setup for divine victory. What appears to be the end becomes a new beginning.
The most devastating blow the enemy ever landed was through the first man, Adam. Romans tells us:
"Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned." - Romans 5:12
Through Adam's fall, sin entered the human experience. Death followed sin. The entire world became corrupted, and every person born after Adam inherited this sin nature. The enemy's plan seemed complete. Humanity was trapped, bound by sin and death, with no way out.
The Divine Reversal
But here's where everything changes. The enemy intended evil through the first Adam, but God had a plan that would not only undo the damage but exceed it beyond measure. Enter Jesus, the second Adam.
Romans declares:
"But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many." - Romans 5:15
If Adam's sin could corrupt the entire world, how much greater is the gift we receive through Jesus? There is no comparison between Adam's transgression and the gracious gift we now possess. If one man's sin could bring suffering, disease, brokenness, and discouragement, how much more can one man's obedience bring healing, wholeness, joy, and victory?
Your New Connection
Here's the life-changing truth: you are no longer connected to the first Adam. When you accepted Jesus, you were disconnected from that old family line and grafted into a new one. You are now part of the family of the second Adam. You are born of God.
This isn't just a spiritual concept; it has practical implications for every area of your life. Your DNA, spiritually speaking, is no longer connected to the generational patterns of sin, sickness, and failure. The blood of Jesus that flows through your spiritual veins is pure. It cannot produce sickness, disease, or brokenness because you are connected to the second Adam.
You are not connected with the old man; you are connected with the new man.
Your body is the temple of the Living God. Every organ, every cell, every system in your body is meant to reflect this new connection. Blood pressure, sugar levels, every bodily function needs to align with this truth: you are born of God, and the attributes of God should be reflected in you.
The Gift of Righteousness
Romans explains the magnitude of this gift:
"And the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification." - Romans 5:16
One man's sin brought a guilty verdict for everyone. But this gracious gift through the second Adam frees us from our many failures and brings us into the perfect righteousness of God. There is no guilty verdict anymore. No failure. No sickness. No disease. No unrighteousness.
Welcome to the family of Jesus Christ. Welcome to the Kingdom of Light, the kingdom of healing, the kingdom of peace, the kingdom of joy. This is the Kingdom of Heaven, full of life and abundant grace.
Reigning as Kings
Romans gives us our position:
"For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ." - Romans 5:17
Death once held humanity in its grip, but now you are held in the grip of grace. You are in the grip of life, fullness, and peace. You don't just survive; you reign as a king in life. You are a priest and a king, free and gifted with perfect righteousness through Jesus the Messiah.
Claiming Your Benefits
Every single benefit that Jesus purchased through the cross is available to you. All you need to do is claim it and receive it. Nothing can stop you. Your DNA has been changed. What the enemy corrupted through Adam has been fixed through the gracious mercy of Jesus.
When you accepted the second Adam, you were disconnected from the first. The connection has been made with Jesus Christ. You are born of God. You have the divine nature of God within you.
Whatever has happened in your life, whatever the enemy meant for evil, God will change it for good. You will see it. Your family will see it. Just trust. Don't dwell on the past. Don't meditate on failures. When those thoughts come, resist the devil and he will flee. Fight your battle of faith by standing on the Word of God.
Declare: "I am not connected with the first Adam anymore. I am connected with the second Adam. I am connected with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
Conclusion
Stand on the promises of God. You are not a failure. You are born of God, and therefore you must be victorious. You cannot remain sick because you are born of God. Rise up and shine, moving from strength to strength, from glory to glory, from victory to victory, from promotion to promotion. You are ascending from one level to the next because you are born of God and anointed with His power.
The goodness of God will flow in your life. You will surely see the goodness of God in the land of the living. In Him, you have everything. He is your City of Refuge where the righteous run and find safety.
Reflect on This
In what areas of your life do you still feel connected to the "first Adam" rather than living in the freedom of the second Adam?
How would your daily life change if you truly believed that God's divine nature flows through you and that you reign as a king in life?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You that what the enemy meant for evil, You have turned into good. I declare that I am disconnected from the first Adam and fully connected to Jesus Christ, the second Adam. I am born of God, and His divine nature flows through me. Every organ in my body, every area of my life reflects Your righteousness, healing, and wholeness. I am not a failure; I am victorious. I am not sick; I am healed. I am not bound; I am free. I reign as a king in life through Jesus Christ. The goodness of God flows through me, and I walk from glory to glory, from victory to victory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
