Today, let's explore a profound truth that transforms how we relate to God. When we understand how God sees us and how we should see Him, our entire spiritual perspective shifts. This isn't just theological knowledge it's a life-changing revelation that brings freedom and intimacy with our Creator.
The Unbreakable Connection
Nothing can separate us from God's love. As reminds us:
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. - Romans 8:35-37
This truth forms the foundation of our relationship with God. Like a river flowing into the ocean, we are united with Him so completely that nothing can separate us. When we truly grasp this reality, fear loses its power over us. Problems may knock at our door, but they cannot break our connection with the Father.
Seeing Through Adam's Eyes vs. Jesus' Eyes
After sin entered the world, Adam hid from God. He felt ashamed, naked, and unworthy. From his perspective in darkness, God appeared distant and fearsome. This distorted view has affected humanity ever since.
On the cross, Jesus entered our darkness. For a moment, He experienced what we feel in our fallen state, crying out:
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" - Psalm 22:1
This wasn't because God had actually abandoned Him, but because Jesus was seeing through Adam's eyes, through our eyes, from the place of our fallenness. Yet crucially, Jesus ended His time on the cross with:
"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." - Luke 23:46
In that moment, Jesus bridged the gap. He started with "My God" (our perspective) and finished with "My Father" (His perspective). This transformation represents the rescue of humanity from darkness.
The Trinity's Rescue Mission
Humanity fell into deep darkness, trying desperately to reach God but falling short. We were too far gone, trapped in the pit of our own making. But Jesus came into our world, fully connected with God to do the will of God, on a divine rescue mission.
"For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will". - John 6:38
The entire Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit worked together with a unified purpose.
Psalm 22 prophetically portrays what happened at the cross.
They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing. - Psalm 22:18
This was fulfilled when soldiers divided Jesus' clothes at the crucifixion. But traditional teaching often suggests that the Father rejected Jesus, leaving Him alone. If that were true, how do we explain below verse?
For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help. - Psalm 22:24
God never hid His face from Jesus, even at the cross. Though Jesus momentarily saw God through Adam's perspective crying "My God, my God" He concluded with "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." This reveals the truth: the Trinity was united in their rescue mission.
Jesus stood with one hand connected to the Father and the other reaching into our darkness.
"And He who sent Me is [always] with Me; He has not left Me alone, because I always do what pleases Him". - John 8:29
Like someone trapped in a cave who cannot see or help themselves, we were lost in spiritual blindness. But Jesus, illuminated by His connection with the Father, entered our darkness. He wrapped us in His embrace while the Father lifted Him and us with Him, out of the pit.
Our New Identity
Through Christ, we've been given a new identity:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. - 2 Corinthians 5:17
We no longer need to see God through Adam's fearful eyes. We can now see Him as Jesus does as our loving Father who never turns His face away from us. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places, united with God in spirit.
Conclusion
Today, choose to see God through Jesus' eyes rather than Adam's. Experience the Father's love that never forsakes you. You are not alone or separated, you are connected to God in an unbreakable bond of love. Let this truth heal your heart, mind, body, and soul. The Father loves you more than you can imagine, and nothing can separate you from that love.
Reflect on This
In what areas of your life are you still seeing God through Adam's eyes (with fear, shame, or distance) rather than through Jesus' eyes?
How would your daily experiences change if you truly believed nothing could separate you from God's love?
Prayer
Father, I thank You that I am forever united with You through Christ. I declare that I see You as my loving Father, not as a distant God. I reject the lies of separation and embrace the truth that You never turn Your face from me. Your love fills every part of my being, healing and restoring me. I am Your beloved child, connected to You in an unbreakable bond. In Jesus' name, Amen.
