Cross
The divine exchange at the cross replaced curses with blessings, sickness with healing, and poverty with prosperity.

Today, let's explore what it truly means to have a covenant membership with Christ. This isn't just about belonging to a church or following religious traditions, it's about understanding the profound benefits that come with your spiritual identity. When you grasp who you are in Christ, you'll begin to experience the victorious life that's already available to you.

From Death to Grace

"For if by the trespass of the one, Adam, death reigned through the one, how much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in eternal life through the one, Jesus Christ." - Romans 5:17

Death once held humanity in its grip because of Adam's blunder. But now, through Jesus Christ, the last Adam, we've been transferred from the grip of death to the grip of grace. The perfect righteousness that makes us right with God and leads us to a victorious life is now available to all.

Yet many believers aren't living according to this truth. Why? Because we need to unlearn our old identity and relearn who we are in Christ.

Unlearning and Relearning

When you're tired or facing challenges, don't identify with your old sin nature. Instead, relate yourself to Christ. Program your subconscious mind with these truths:

"I'm a new creation. I'm in Christ. I'm seated in heavenly places. I've been raised with Jesus."

This isn't positive thinking, it's biblical reality. You are reigning as kings in life, enjoying regal freedom. You've been freed from sin, poverty, and everything that came because of Adam's fall.

The Divine Exchange

When Adam sinned, curses entered the world. But through Jesus, a divine exchange happened on the cross. As Galatians reveals, Jesus took the curse upon Himself so you could have blessing.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us - Galatians 3:13

The curse made everything difficult and hard, but the blessing in Christ makes you fruitful and wise. Sickness was a curse, but in Jesus, you have life and healing. You can walk in this reality, but it depends on what you believe.

Your Covenant Benefits

Think of your relationship with Christ as a membership with exclusive benefits. You've received the gift of covenant membership, purchased by Jesus' blood on the cross.

If you have an executive membership somewhere but aren't aware of its benefits, you might unnecessarily pay for services that are already included. Similarly, many Christians aren't enjoying their covenant benefits simply because they don't know what they're entitled to.

The Membership Analogy

Imagine moving to a new house and needing to learn when to put your bins out for collection. At first, you might miss the collection dates because the information hasn't yet entered your subconscious mind. You need to unlearn the old dates and relearn the new ones.

Similarly, you need to understand your covenant membership and discover who you are in Christ. In Ephesians 1, you'll find that you are chosen, adopted, redeemed, sealed, and holy. That's your new identity, that's what comes with your covenant membership.

The Victorious Life Available Now

Just as condemnation came upon all people through Adam's transgression, perfect righteousness is now available to all through Jesus' sacrifice. The victorious life, the blessed life full of healing, prosperity, and freedom, is available to you right now.

"The perfect righteousness that makes us right with God and leads to a victorious life is now available to all."

The Bible is like a benefits book, detailing what you receive as part of your membership. When you join a club, they tell you about access to the swimming pool, gym, and other amenities. Similarly, your covenant with Christ gives you access to healing, prosperity, peace, and righteousness.

Conclusion

Sadly, many Christians aren't enjoying their covenant benefits. But now is the time to start your victorious life in Jesus' name. You have a new identity in Christ and are entitled to all the benefits that come with it.

Your old membership has been canceled, and you've been given a new membership in heaven. You no longer live in a cursed land but in a prosperous one. Jesus has done the hard work, and now you can benefit from what He has accomplished.

Reflect on This

  1. How might your life change if you fully understood and claimed your covenant benefits in Christ?

  2. What specific areas of your life need to be transformed by the truth of your new identity in Jesus?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of covenant membership purchased by the blood of Jesus. I declare that I am a new creation in Christ, reigning as a king in life. I receive the victorious life, healing, prosperity, and righteousness that are now available to me. I reject the enemy's lies and embrace my true identity in You. I am no longer bound by curses but blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Thank You that I can walk in victory today and always. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
