God's protection surrounds us even when we cannot perceive it with natural senses.

Today, let's explore the extraordinary gift of spiritual vision. This isn't just about physical sight, but about seeing with enlightened eyes—perceiving what God sees and understanding situations from His divine perspective. When our spiritual eyes are opened, everything changes.

The Battlefield of Perception

Every victory in our lives begins in the mind before manifesting in the natural world. When we face challenges, our natural response might be fear or anxiety. We see the obstacles, the threats, the impossibility of our situation, just like Elisha's servant who woke up to find their city surrounded by enemy forces.

"When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. 'Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?' the servant asked." — 2 Kings 6:15

This servant saw only what was visible to natural eyes a powerful enemy, an impossible situation, and certain defeat. His question reflects what many of us ask when facing overwhelming circumstances: "What shall we do?"

The Prayer That Changes Everything

Elisha's response reveals the heart of spiritual vision:

"Don't be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." — 2 Kings 6:16

Rather than focusing on the problem, Elisha prayed a transformative prayer: "Lord, open his eyes that he may see." This simple prayer changed everything, not by altering the circumstances, but by revealing what was already there.

When God answered this prayer, the servant saw beyond the natural realm. The mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha, God's army was already in position, already protecting them, already ensuring victory.

Your Unseen Protection

Even at this moment, your home is surrounded by chariots of fire. Your family is encircled by God's army. You are covered by the fire of God's presence and protection. This isn't wishful thinking, it's spiritual reality.

If we truly understood this revelation, how differently would we approach our problems? How would our reactions change? Our perspective would shift from panic to peace, from "What shall we do?" to "Lord, You have already done it."

When we see as God sees, the way we approach problems changes completely.

The Authority of Your Prayers

Elisha demonstrated another powerful truth—our prayers can both open and close. First, he prayed for opened eyes, then he prayed for the enemy's eyes to be closed:

"When the enemies came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, 'Strike this army with blindness.' So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked." — 2 Kings 6:18

You have this same authority. You can close doors that the enemy has opened. Just as you can turn off a faucet, you can shut down sickness, poverty, and problems in Jesus' name. You can close the door on distractions, unwanted thoughts, anger, blame, and every challenge the enemy brings.

Your Covenant Advantage

If Elisha could walk in such authority under the old covenant, how much more can we accomplish under the new covenant? Elisha didn't have the complete Bible. He didn't have the full revelation of Jesus Christ. He didn't have the indwelling Holy Spirit as we do.

You and I have been saved by the blood of Jesus. We have the complete Word of God. We are filled with the Holy Spirit. We have greater revelation and greater resources than Elisha ever had.

All we need is an open mind and enlightened eyes to see what God has already provided.

Conclusion

Today, instead of asking "why" or "what shall we do," declare: "Lord, I am Your child. I will obey. You are my good Father, and every good and perfect gift comes from You. Because I'm connected and united with You, I will face my giants with confidence."

God can use the very problems the enemy brings as barriers to become stepping stones to your success. What looks like an obstacle can become your ladder to victory when seen through spiritual eyes.

Reflect on This

  1. In what areas of your life do you need to pray, "Lord, open my eyes to see what You see"?

  2. How would your response to current challenges change if you truly believed you were surrounded by God's protective presence?

Prayer

I declare that my spiritual eyes are open to see beyond natural circumstances. I am surrounded by God's protection and power. I close every door the enemy has opened in my life. I walk in the authority Jesus has given me. Every barrier becomes a stepping stone to my victory. I see as God sees, and I respond with faith rather than fear. My mind is renewed, my vision is clear, and my path is established. In Jesus' name, I am victorious.

Key Takeaways

  • Spiritual vision begins with asking God to open our eyes to see beyond natural circumstances.

  • God's protection surrounds us even when we cannot perceive it with natural senses.

  • We have authority through prayer to both open what should be opened and close what should be closed.

  • Under the new covenant, we have greater resources and revelation than the prophets of old.

  • The same problems the enemy intends as barriers can become stepping stones to success when viewed through spiritual eyes.
