Today, we'll explore how God calls us to step beyond our natural limitations and experience the supernatural in our daily lives. Just as Peter walked on water when Jesus called him, we too can do what seems impossible through faith.
Take Courage, He Is With You
In the Gospel of Matthew, we find a powerful story that reminds us of God's presence in the midst of life's storms:
"But Jesus immediately said to them: 'Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.' 'Lord, if it's you,' Peter replied, 'tell me to come to you on the water.'" - Matthew 14:27-28
These words from Jesus, "Take courage, I am here," remind us that God is always with us. When we recognize His presence, fear loses its grip on our hearts. Jesus doesn't just calm our fears; He invites us to step into the extraordinary.
Peter responded to this invitation with bold faith. He asked Jesus to call him out onto the water, and when Jesus said "Come," Peter did what humans naturally cannot do:
"Yes, come," Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus." - Matthew 14:29
This moment captures the essence of faith: stepping out of our comfort zones when God calls us, even when what He's asking seems impossible by natural standards.
The Impossible Made Possible
Throughout Scripture, we see that God's Word consistently contradicts what the world tells us is possible. The world sets limitations based on age, circumstances, and natural laws, but God's perspective is entirely different.
For example, the world says that aging means decline and weakness, but Psalm 92 promises:
"Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green." - Psalm 92:14
When we focus on God's Word rather than the world's limitations, we position ourselves to experience the supernatural. The impossible becomes possible through the power of God.
Thriving in Every Season
The world tells us that our success depends on external circumstances. During economic downturns, we're told to expect scarcity and loss. But God's Word offers a different perspective:
"They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." - Jeremiah 17:8
Like these trees, we don't need to fear seasonal changes or economic fluctuations. Our roots tap into a different source. Our economy is the heavenly economy. Our provider is the Creator of the universe who supplies all our needs according to His heavenly riches.
Remember Isaac, who planted during a drought and received a hundredfold return. When others said, "This is not profitable, this business cannot succeed," that's precisely when Isaac saw his greatest harvest. God delights in demonstrating His provision when the world says it's impossible.
Stepping Out of the Boat
Sometimes we get stuck in the comfort of the familiar, just like the disciples who remained in the boat while Peter walked on water. Fear prevents us from taking that first step of faith. We develop a religious mentality that observes miracles rather than experiences them.
Consider this: if the other disciples had asked Jesus if they too could walk on water, would He have refused them? Certainly not! But they never asked. They stayed in the boat, witnessing the miracle rather than experiencing it themselves.
God has called us to do the impossible. From Genesis onward, the Bible is filled with stories of God making the impossible possible:
God spoke, and creation appeared from nothing
A virgin conceived and bore a son
The Red Sea parted for the Israelites to cross on dry land
Jesus rose from the dead after three days
These aren't just ancient stories; they're patterns that reveal God's desire to work miracles in our lives today.
Sealed by the Holy Spirit
As believers, we have the ultimate assurance of God's power working in us:
"And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago." - Ephesians 1:13
This seal of the Holy Spirit is our protection and authority. Just as a government seal on a building prevents unauthorized entry, the seal of the Holy Spirit declares God's ownership and protection over our lives.
When challenges come, we can walk on top of them. Nothing can stop us, break us, or harm us when we're sealed by the Holy Spirit. We can speak life over sickness, command healing in our bodies, and declare victory over every obstacle.
All Things Are Possible
The Bible assures us:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13
Not just some things, but all things. Your family may question your calling. Friends may doubt your vision. But when you're empowered by Christ, nothing is impossible.
Walking on water becomes your experience. Even when challenges come, you can walk on top of them. Your body is the temple of the living God; it cannot remain diseased. Your circumstances are under your feet; they cannot defeat you.
Conclusion
Today, hear Jesus saying "Come" to you. Step out of the boat of comfort and familiarity. Do what seems impossible in the natural realm. You are sealed by the Holy Spirit, covered by God's protection, and empowered by His strength.
When problems arise, see them through the eyes of faith. You have God's support. You have heavenly armies surrounding you. You can speak life and command healing in Jesus' name.
You are called to live a supernatural lifestyle where the impossible becomes possible through your faith in God.
Reflect on This
What "boat" of comfort or familiarity is God calling you to step out of today?
How might your perspective change if you viewed your current challenges as opportunities to walk on water with Jesus?
Prayer
Father, I thank You that I am sealed by Your Holy Spirit. I declare that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Today, I step out of the boat of limitation and walk on the waters of impossibility. I am not bound by what the world says is possible; I am empowered by Your Word. Every challenge is under my feet. Every obstacle gives way to Your power working through me. I am fruitful in every season, prosperous in every circumstance, and victorious in every battle. In Jesus' name, I receive the courage to live supernaturally. In Jesus' name, Amen.
